Collins is too expensive for us!

Maine Newsroom@mainenewsroom.com

10/26 The home heating oil industry has given Senator Susan Collins’s re-election efforts almost $242k this cycle. The cost for a gallon of heating oil in Maine hit a record $6.04 last week. #maine #MEpolitics

NEW: Sen. Angus King is endorsing our campaign! Sen. King has spent his career fighting for the people of Maine. I’m ready to get to work alongside him in Washington, fighting for the people of this state and district.

They know that this vote is our last chance to preserve our democracy and our security.

Troy Jackson@troyjackson207.bsky.social

Today, 62 former U.S. ambassadors and national security leaders endorsed my campaign for U.S. Senate. Their service spans five decades under Democratic and Republican presidents. Many were confirmed by Senator Collins herself.

Read this op-ed on the debate’s starkest contrast, Paul LePage’s record on health care versus Matt’s focus on restoring coverage for Mainers who need it most:

Susan Collins has had essentially unlimited $$ support from her billionaire donors...so attending a fundraiser NINE DAYS before Election Day -- instead of being out knocking doors etc etc -- sort of gives the game way: It's a money-for-access trade. And we all know why they want access. #MEpolitics

As governor, Paul LePage pardoned political allies convicted of felony crimes and let lobbyists write policy for industries they used to represent. I’ve built my career on oversight and accountability. Maine deserves someone who answers to Mainers, not lobbyists.

Go Matt go!

“LePage was no friend to the citizens of the Second Congressional District when he was governor.” A letter from Bangor lays out Paul LePage’s record as governor, blocking Medicaid expansion and cutting funding for Meals on Wheels and other services seniors rely on.

Susan Collins is falsely claiming she's won tariff exemptions, and media outlets are letting her get away with it. In fact, the admin is swapping some 50% tariffs for other 50% tariffs, as they did when they swapped out road salt. www.cbc.ca/news/politic...

It all comes down to Maine. It comes down to us. We know what’s at stake. We know that a vote for Susan Collins is a vote for Donald Trump. Let’s win this thing and take back the Senate.

Vote like your future depends on it!

Racism and xenophobia are key ways poor and middle class people are recruited and used to benefit the elite. I hope this backfires, as it sometimes does, with stronger turnout by Somali Americans and an array of Mainers protecting the right to vote and electing pro-democracy candidates. #mepolitics

I guess Bill Green's sister and Susan Collins too believe in slave wages.

Amy Fried@asfried.bsky.social

In the BDN: Bill Green reveals his sister works on the Collins campaign and thinks it's "dumb" that Troy says “If you work hard, you ought to be able to take your kid to the doctor...to buy groceries.. to retire with Medicare and Social Security... that your hard work paid off.” #mepolitics

"Has Susan Collins ever cut, split, hauled or stacked wood?"

Troy Jackson@troyjackson207.bsky.social

This letter I received is what this campaign is all about. Susan Collins is out of touch with what Mainers are going through — and she’s making it worse by rubber-stamping Donald Trump’s agenda...

Yeah, the idea that Susan Collins rallied Republicans to oppose Hegseth -- even unsuccessfully -- only makes sense if you ignore what she actually said at the time. She also voted FOR the motion to proceed on his nomination. Not something you do if you're trying to defeat the guy! #MEpolitics

Jill Piggott@jillpiggott.bsky.social

After Collins met w/ Hegseth, she said, "I'm not surprised that a group of service members who were under his leadership have written to endorse his nomination," but said she'd wait to decide until "other parts of the process" play out (NewsCenter ME 12/12/24). She always waits for the vote count.

Have any political reporters asked Republican candidates why they're taking big bucks from a white supremacist named Elon Musk? If you have examples of the question being asked that way, please share them. If it's not being asked, why not?

Maine, you have a choice: A Senator who helps Donald Trump hurt Maine and then tells us how concerned she is or somebody who will stand up against him before another family in Maine has to pay the price. I owe the people of Maine everything and tonight I'm asking for your vote.

Fixed it for you, Paul. LePage is lying about his record. He vetoed Medicaid expansion 6 times. He cut funding for rural hospitals. He cut Meals on Wheels. He refused to fund Alzheimer's care. He called Social Security "welfare, pure and simple." Maine seniors can't afford him in Congress.

Maine deserves a representative who actually lives here, not someone who left for Florida and never looked back. 📺️ Watch our new ad:

Collins has no answers to this and has never sat down to fully answer the questions about this illegal donation to her.

Collins Watch@collinswatch.bsky.social

Credit to Press Herald for connecting the dots among Susan Collins campaign, her super PAC and her fundraising consultant -- which share in common that they were looped in on efforts to collude with a felon/donor to obtain illegal donations. Team Collins has no real response to this. #MEpolitics

She didn't always walk the walk, but in the 2000s environmental protection was *central* to Susan Collins brand. (She had her own carbon cap bill!) Over time that became untenable within the GOP and by 2020 she was doing fundraisers at the Petroleum Club of Houston. That's who she is. #MEpolitics
