Not gonna lie, been feeling a smidge apprehensive about this moon launch given how little this administration cares about things like, you know, science and safety and such* so I was going to wait until they were actually out of the atmosphere to say anything. (*not a reflection on NASA, they rock)

That's what happens when you give Obama one and snub Trump.

The guy that thinks he deserves a Nobel Peace Prize has now started his second unauthorized war in the last six months.

As a veteran struggling to get my rating reevaluated, this is horrifying. My anxiety is crippling with treatment. I can't imagine how bad it would be without, or how they're going to evaluate my measly 30% disability.

This isn't real. This is the kind of thing Hollywood thinks is real. I don't know what the hell is really going on with this but it all just looks and sounds fake.

I make good money and I can't afford most concerts. Although I do go all out for Weird Al.

It shouldn’t be this way. It shouldn’t be that only rich people can go see live music. Who tf wants to play in front of a bunch of rich people anyway?

absolutely true, for a very narrow target.

The reactionary centrist logic is simple: if the left does something bad it’s the left’s fault, and if the right does something bad, it’s also the left’s fault for making them do it. It’s a simple formula and once you see it every one of their arguments is the same

Thing is it's also kind of true. Like we know whatever potato wins against the MAGA candidate in 28 the pendulum is just gonna swing to the left. That's more good than bad, but it ain't all good either unless real change is made to prevent this ever happening again.

This is insane. Brooks says everyone is too blinded by ideology to see the truth of what the video shows. Then the host asks him what it shows and he refuses to answer. “Left and right are equally to blame for everything all the time” is also an ideology!

I don't automatically assume the guy who murdered Renee Nicole Good was some evil MAGA enthusiast bent on murdering women for disobeying. He was probably some idiot who joined up because the pay is good that panicked at the first sign of danger.

They've stopped even pretending.

Radley Balko@radleybalko.bsky.social

An entire room full of powerful old white people smiling and laughing as the president dehumanizes black immigrants and the first black president. Just fucking pathetic.

I really wish people would stop saying this. The Nuremberg WWII trials were show trials with injuries and largely predetermined outcomes. They were such enormous failures that they didn't even try to do the same thing in Japan.

Kevin Gannon (now a Moo Deng fan account)@thetattooedprof.bsky.social

We're gonna need a truth and reconciliation commission and Nuremberg style trials to reckon with all of this evil, and any Dem candidate for office who shies away from a full reckoning in the name of "moving forward as a nation" can get well and truly fucked

I (a veteran) have in fact been banned from bringing swords to work, as well as but entirely separately, threatening to stab my (also veteran) coworkers while in meetings. Any veteran can understand my disappointment here.

I bet you're wondering how far down this rabbit hole you'll have to get through in order to get to my chilli recipe. Well you're in luck because the gummies are kicking in and I feel like talking so just sit right back and I'll tell you a tale. A tale of three little pigs. And a big. Bad. Woolff!

At first it was just "is that real chainmail? OMG Sam is that a real sword!" They didnt think "Blackwand the battle ready bastard sword" was as cool as i did, even with the chainmail. It was days later when I was told not to threaten to stab Roger in my own meeting. Again, unrelated

In case it isn't obvious, they're panicking. If they keep the government shut down, Johnson can keep the House out of session, and that keeps the Epstein Files off the best seller list.

Max Berger@maxberger.bsky.social

Wow, that’s crazy. Republicans lied and are screwing you over? Who could have seen that coming?

Yo! We're getting the Epstein Files. Johnson will be forced to bring the House back in session to vote on the revised bill. To do that he's going to have to swear in Adelita Grijalva, who will add her vote to a resolution to force a house vote to release the Files.

If there's a lie here, I can't find it.

I can't be the only one noticing that rockist old curmudgeons grousing about how "No one makes great music anymore" are often the same ones trashing new artists who either ARE making great music that doesn't sound like classic rock, or trashing new artists for sounding TOO MUCH like classic rock.

It would be hilarious if the GOP realized the only way to move forward to reopen the government is to cut their losses and impeach the fascist in power. It won't happen, but it would be interesting.
