1. NOBODY asked you. Zero bodies. 2. Conflating Diaspora Jews w/Israelis is textbook antisemitism + I'm sure that stat's a lie 3. Most of all, @abdulelsayed.bsky.social embodies more Torah principles than any of these dinguses ever could.

Trump on El-Sayed: "Any Jewish person that supports this guy should be ashamed of themselves. I'll tell you right now, you should never speak to them again. I'm polling at 99% in Israel. I cannot understand how anybody who's Jewish can even think about voting for this guy."

This is huge. AIPAC just announced that they are ending endorsements and direct contributions to candidates for Congress. This is a momentous victory that IfNotNow and our partner movements have been actively organizing toward for nearly a decade.

This month in Michigan, AIPAC’s super PAC is ramping up its spending, targeting 130,000 Jewish voters with mailers attacking Abdul El-Sayed. And they have no plans to stop. But we won’t give up. Ever.

Our organizing works. AIPAC’s loss this week is proof. Now imagine what we can accomplish next. Together, we can block U.S. weapons to Israel to bring about real, systemic change.

But here’s the truth: we know AIPAC and its extremist agenda isn’t going away. They’re simply rebranding to maintain their playbook of funneling millions and millions of dollars to influence elections.

In 2023, we launched our national campaign to Reject AIPAC. In 2024, we helped lead a national coalition calling on the Democratic Party to reject endorsements and money from AIPAC and its extremist allies.

For years, we’ve disrupted the narrative that AIPAC represents our Jewish communities. We’ve confronted elected officials and political candidates all over the country and called on them to reject AIPAC.

In 2017, we brought over 1000 Jews to rally outside AIPAC’s policy conference in Washington, DC, demanding an end to the occupation. At that time, not a single U.S. politician was willing to cross AIPAC’s line and call for an end to U.S. support for Israel’s system of apartheid and occupation.

But to win equality, freedom, and a thriving future for all Palestinians and Israelis, we knew we had to end AIPAC’s grip on U.S. policy on Israel. We had to make AIPAC as toxic as the NRA in the Democratic Party.

This afternoon, we toured the infrastructure of occupation in the West Bank: Settler outposts that uproot groves full of olive trees & steal Palestinian land. Gates arbitrarily closed by Israeli forces, forcing Palestinian villages to transfer construction supplies and bulk goods by hand.

"The fear of what an El-Sayed candidacy means for Michigan’s Jews was palpable as I followed canvassers with @seedthevote.bsky.social, a group that, in partnership with IfNotNow and @bendthearc.bsky.social, is bringing Jews from the area, as well as from around the country, to Jewish neighborhoods…"

IfNotNow Movement is proud to be bringing Jews from all over the country to support Michigan Jews’ efforts to speak with Jewish Voters, combat fearmongering, and get out the vote for Abdul. We knocked over 1000 doors our first weekend out – but there’s a lot more ground to cover!

IfNotNow member and soon-to-be congressman @bradlander.bsky.social, dozens of US rabbis, Israeli solidarity activists, and other volunteers were detained by the Israeli military while helping Palestinian farmers harvest their olive trees. The IDF also detained the Palestinian owners of the land.

This system is enabled by US weapons and military funding, which we must block immediately in order to bring about safety, equality, and justice for all Palestinians and Israelis.

We call on US officials and Jewish establishment institutions to demand accountability from the Israeli government for these arrests and for all of its arrests and ongoing attacks on Palestinians.

This is part and parcel of Israel’s program of ethnic cleansing: make daily life impossible for Palestinians in order to force them off their land, and punish those who support them — even Jewish clergy and congress members.

The Israeli government, military, and settlers — through murder, mass arrests, arson attacks, land theft, and numerous punitive policies — have made it impossible for Palestinian farmers to harvest their olives.

Relieved @bradlander.bsky.social is safe, hoping the others will be released soon. But even when they are: Palestinians are still being detained, still attacked daily, still blocked from accessing their trees. Every leading candidate in the Israeli elections supports this intolerable status quo.

Brad Lander@bradlander.bsky.social

I’ve been released from IDF custody with a “warning,” apparently because of my public profile (I told them I wasn’t even a congressmember yet, just a nominee). But several dozen rabbis & participants harvesting olives with me are still in detention.

After bearing witness up close to the realities of Israel's system of apartheid, ethnic cleansing, and genocide — facilitated by endless U.S. military support — our Shared Safety Delegation has gained renewed inspiration from Palestinian resistance and Israeli solidarity.

“I want to figure out a way to bridge to people that don't see how it is shared safety. Jews will not live in safety unless Palestinians live in safety…we are family, and we need to build safety together.”
