A mixed #hobbystreak 38 - I’m painting up this tank for someone (I didn’t build it, just trying to make it presentable) and love the look of the red. Gappy with my goliaths too although I’ve misplaced the axe which is incredibly annoying

#hobbystreak 36 and these guys are coming along nicely I think. I’m not 100% happy with the skin, I think the stippling/feathering I’ve tried hasn’t worked so I’ll see if I can use it as a base for glazes. The red is nice and I like the hazard stripes. #warhammer #necromunda

#hobbystreak 35 and I got some work done on these despite going to London and back. They aren’t turning out the way I imagined, I’m trying to avoid blending but it’s just sort of happening (although it doesn’t look like it on my phone camera). I’m enjoying the red #necromunda #warhammer

#hobbystreak 34 a busy day today, I got work done on the extra storage space for my workshop (you don’t see many sheds with a double glazed window but we had it going spare) plus more work on my #necromunda goliaths - sorry the pics suck. I photographed some cool mushrooms on my walk too

More Gandalf before my day of hobby based fun

#hobbystreak 32 and I painted up Gandalf today. My goal was not to do any blending and to try to stick up other techniques. I think I’ll give the robes a glaze or two but otherwise it’s not bad. Also my #orktober orks are fine. Just need to get the boyz glued down and I can start painting them.

#hobbystreak 25 I run a warhammer club at work which gave me time to get this gladiator together today. I think I’m done with the ghoul thing, I’ve learned a few things and it looks ok but I think it’s too small a canvas to really play

This is cool! I really like the skaven stuff but I find it hard to play ‘baddies’

#hobbystreak 24 and I thought I’d have a go at another limited palette challenge with this ghoulish thing. I went for some cooler tones inspired by one of the Blanche paint sets. I’m trying to play with wet blending and roughly blocking in colours to start with and then I’ll try to refine them later

#hobbystreak 23 and one ‘hobby’ got in the way of another but I did have a few minutes to fill some gaps in these spooks I found on Vinted. I’m going to try another limited palette idea, does anyone know what they are? Presumably #ageofsigmar

#hobbystreak 20 I’m pretty much done with this dude. He’s far from perfect and I need to touch up where I dropped him but overall not bad and a fun experiment. I wouldn’t paint a whole army like this but some of it was great fun. #warhammer #paintingwarhammer #warhammerageofsigmar

#hobbystreak 19 and I’ve made progress. He’s not great but I’m learning a lot, for example why I normally use a dark base. I’m pleased with the shield but might push the highlights a bit and go over the skin to add more depth. I’m struggling a bit with clothing as it’s hard to darken the paint.

#hobbystreak 18 and I’ve been itching to try this for a while - red based Ork and a limited palette. I’m only working with the paints pictured over a vivid red base. So far I’ve made a good start on the skin and begun to block in some base colours for the armour and fabrics. It’s a mess but fun!

#hobbystreak 16 not much today, busy with work and family. I did get a base on this guy and he is almost done. I’m particularly pleased with the cloak but I don’t think it necessarily reads as leather. I should probably brush the gravel off his face #warhammer #paintingwarhammer

Most nights my kids listen to the Just So Stories at bed time so I I’ve heard this poem (Merrow Down) hundreds of times, it’s always made me feel sadT today I looked it up. It’s poem Kipling wrote as an elegy for his daughter after she died of pneumonia aged 6. Kipling knew how to write grief

#hobbystreak 14 almost done with this librarian. The glow effect isn’t great, might need a touch more white and I need a better blue fluorescent paint. The cape on the other hand I’m rather pleased with, I was aiming for red lined leather and I think it kind of works #warhammer #paintingwarhammer

#hobbystreak 12 I got some faces painted (the camera really doesn’t like them) and started working on extending my shed which led to the discovery of this snail stash

I like the look of these new #warhammer paints but the whole ‘blob drying smooth’ thing is amusing. I thought most paints did that, certainly my base coats for faces tend to be Vallejo model colour slopped in and it ends up pretty smooth

#Hobbystreak 9 not much today but I managed to get the oath papers based, repainted the ancient’s building silver and check out this ork arm! I think I might need a cool ork mini to try this on, it’s totally impractical for an army but would make an awesome one off #warhammer #paintingwarhammer
