I'm going to do some posting about one of my PMD world lores. Cool? Cool. This world is set separately from the games, so none of those events happened. It is a little more of a low magic fantasy setting; magic isn't exceedingly powerful, but used commonly enough in everyday life.

Some Pokemon species don't even exist. These are typically Pokemon who need some form of technology to exist in the first place; Voltorb, Porygon, Varoom, and the like just don't exist. Fossil Pokemon did exist, but are now extinct. There's no revived fossil Pokemon in existence here.

Evolution by age varies by species, too. A Riolu becomes a Lucario during their early teen years, as they essentially hit puberty. A Dratini will be a Dratini for several decades, even 100 years, as their species are so long lived, powerful, and take a long time to properly mature as adults.

Some of the humans were adults. Some were children. Some were young and made into old Pokemon. Some were old humans and made into young Pokemon. Some were male made female, and vise-versa. No rhyme or reason for the transformations. Some lived peaceful lives, some died tragically.

Humans retain their memories and come from different walks of life, and different times. Where they appear can also vary, as two people who came from the same point of time in the human world can be sent to two different time periods in the PMD world.

Aside from this potential unlock, most Pokemon have to fight using weapons and armor; swords, spears, bows, shield, helmets, breastplates, etc. Some have developed more powerful weapons to counter dragons in the distant past.

Exception to this are Pokemon associated as dragons and fairies. Dragon Pokemon are mighty, powerful, and long lived, having once attempted to rule over and enslave non-dragons. They're every bit as powerful as their game/anime counterparts, if not more.

There's no electronics here, and Pokemon generally aren't as powerful as their game or anime counterparts. They obtain some powers, but you're not going to see a Pikachu shooting massive thunderbolts or the like. They'll jolt things to start a small fire or as a warning in a fight, but that's it.
