Sandustry by @lantto.bsky.social is an absolutely amazing underrated gem of this year so far. I'm delighted by the act of discovery in this game around every turn. Figuring out solutions for builds and discovering things while exploring both feel satisfying and fun. Highly recommend!

With the addition of the Native Renderer, this Skate 3 Recomp PC port by mchughalex is finally a proper replacement for playing the game on RCPS3 on PC. It now runs much better and far smoother than the emulated version. Huge props to the dev! #skate #recomp #emulation github.com/mchughalex/s...

Also an FYI for anyone trying to play this on Linux, the native version works quite well, but I got FAR better performance running the Windows version of this port under the latest Proton GE. Pretty sweet!

Got my Steam Controller, first impressions are very positive! I agree with people saying the build quality is not as good as the Dual Sense or Switch 2 Pro Controller, but it's still pretty great! I have been absolutely charmed by the software side. The little rumble tones it makes are adorable.

Managed to sneak in an order for one of those new Steam Controllers today! Can't wait to finally get to properly use my virtual menus and keyboard from Steam Deck on the big screen!

About time they finally show the PC version some love. The wait time on this was actually absurd, but this is a good first step.

Cave Story+ Update 2026 on Steam (2-player mode, mod support, enhanced visuals, and much more) store.steampowered.com/news/app/200...

God bless the folks behind Limine Bootloader. Just saved me a lot of headache trying to fix my system after a borked update! My manual snapshot didn't want to work for some reason, but Limine's automatic one restored perfectly!

RE9 has something for every type of Resident Evil fan. It has the slow paced deliberate gameplay of RE7, the high action run and gun antics of RE4. It is a generation defining game, and blew away my expectations. They are going to have a hard time following this up in ANY capacity.

We're only a few months into 2026, and it has already been full of great games! Mewgenics is fun as hell, RE9 has been great so far, Esoteric Ebb drops today, and there is far more to come later this year. Oh and also...

I gave #Cairn by The Game Breakers today. Played about an hour or two and I have to say I am very impressed. This has got to be one of the most fleshed out climbing games I've ever played and the immersion in the game mechanics is unmatched. Can't wait to get into it more this weekend!

So I've played about two hours of #Hytale. Seems quite polished and fun so far, especially for a game just released to Early Access. The progression loop is solid, the enemy variety is INCREDIBLE, and the combat feels really really great. The building can be finicky, but has some great variety!

#Hytale is out tomorrow, and I think we all know it's not going to actually dethrown Minecraft, but all I really want from the game is for it to be different enough to justify it's existence that it can be a good game in it's own right. Maybe Terraria style progression? Also thanks for Native Linux!

Jack Stauber came on the shuffle today while I was at work and DAMN I forgot how catchy and fun his songs are. I wish he'd come back not just on Patreon, but like everywhere. His tunes kick ass.

My prediction for the new Steam's new hardware prices: - Steam Controller at $100, steep but it packs a ton of features and that neat charging dock. Worth it! - Steam Frame at $500, directly competing with Quest 3 with pros and cons for each. - Steam Machine at $800, which will piss everyone off.

If we do get something Kanto related tomorrow at Pokemon Presents, please let it be an HD2D Remake of the Kanto games. That would be the only Kanto related thing I would actually want. PLEASE NINTENDO #pokemon

I really like CapCut as a video editor, but wow they are really starting to push the premium subscription now. You can't separate the audio from a video clip now without paying for premium. That's an essential feature for pretty much anyone, and I can't justify the $20 for my casual use for fun.

I signed up for a trial for some Adobe stock photo thing just to see what was available with a virtual card set to a $1 transaction limit. They have tried 20 TIMES to charge me. Just take away my access already! I don't even feel bad. Adobe sucks.

Fantasy Life i has been INCREDIBLE so far. I can't specify enough how huge of an upgrade it is over it's 3DS counterpart. Can't recommend it enough.

It's very early days, but I am super hyped for this new skating game I just got recommended. It's called cheapskate and it's by former Neversoft devs. I played it for a bit and it shows a lot of potential! It feels quite good despite the lack of animations! store.steampowered.com/app/3554520/...

Folks, it's more important than ever today to thank our indie game devs for years of incredibly unique and fun video games at an affordable price. Nintendo set a precedent for game pricing today that is sure to hurt gamers wallets and make games less accessible to all. Thank you Indie Devs!

I've been replaying the first Katamari game on Steam Deck this week and I forgot how therapeutic these games can be. Nothing like unwinding after a long day by winding up a Katamari. It's weirdly relaxing, and the music kicks ass. I've never played past the first game, but I definitely need too.

@helskate.bsky.social This game had so much potential, unfortunately it was taken out of early access way before it was ready and the devs have been radio silent for two months now. In a last ditch effort to try and trick people into buying this unfinished mess they are now putting the game on sale.

Decided randomly today to switch to Linux with no disregard for the consequences! Loving it so far, so hopefully everything continues to go well. I'm going to miss Lossless Scaling the most from Windows, and I'll likely need to get a Windows partition at some point for PC VR, but for now LINUX!!! :)

And yes Linux Purists, I probably should have gone for a generalized distro rather than Bazzite, but for me personally the convenience of having all the stuff I need for gaming preconfigured out weighed my desire to have my PC more customizable. The automatic setup of X11 to Wayland has been MAGICAL

One of my favorite games of last year, STRAFTAT got a pretty neat update last week. You should definitely give this game a go, it's a chaotic 1v1 FPS with excellent movement and gunplay all wrapped up in a really unique style. Did I mention it's free? store.steampowered.com/app/2386720/...

Just started Psychonauts 2 today. Really glad to see it seems even after 16ish years they where able to keep the theme, humor, and style in tact. Hope it continues to impress!!

Just finished Squid Game Season 2. Surprised how much I enjoyed it, and can't wait for Season 3. Now I am struck by the fact that a Squid Game video game by Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio. They would be perfect in every single way to adapt the series into a video game!!

Yeah I'm totally willing to admit I was wrong about my initial judgement of Marvel Rivals. It's actually really fun and definitely more than just an Overwatch clone.

New favorite response to toxic players, "Having fun?". Works every time. Especially entertaining to use in Marvel Rivals.

Playing through the classic 2003 Psychonauts right now for the first time since I picked up the sequel on the Steam sale. So far I have really been blown away. This game has such a unique vibe, serious charm, an amazing art style, and it's actually funny to boot. Can't wait to play the sequel.

Might have went on a bit of a Laufey binge this year... ๐Ÿ˜‚ And yet JV&B still ended up winning out over her. #spotifywrapped
