@eurothug4000.bsky.social finished the game and watched your video. Good stuff! I obviously didn't grow up there but I had my own nostalgia hit as Clara Woods is not unlike where Climax UK was located and I had a flashback to one time I didn't have the door code. Fewer corpses though.

Finished Townfall. More detailed thoughts later, but now I just want to give a lecture on why building the hiding places like Alien: Isolation's was a misstep and causes undue confusion to the player.

Townfall chapter 5 is peak

For about 5 different reasons I can sum up my time with Townfall so far like this.

Townfall gets hard to relate to when the bald guy keeps insisting he isn’t responsible for the bad thing the corporation said was his fault.

Something all the new SH’s have done is focus more on exploring the outdoor town spaces. That was something I felt the originals started to stray from after the original and the past 3 years have proven its value.

Verdict: “I don’t mind the taste!”

I feel like it was worth the hiding places in SHSM never actually working just to ramp up the tension in Townfall.
