🇦🇺 Aus Sabre vs Can 🇨🇦. One packed 25% more thrust than an F-86F & 30mm guns. The other was lighter with 6 .50 cals & slats. So, which ruled the roost? We asked fighter pilots, an Air Warfare Instructor and an engineer to settle it in the ultimate Sabre showdown: hushkit.substack.com/p/the-ultima...

An appalling 45% of all RAF Lightnings were lost in accidents. However, somewhat miraculously, thanks to an excellent ejection seat, training, and a role focused more on high altitude, it killed far fewer aircrew than almost any other fighter of its generation @MB_EjectEject

The UK spent years developing the Harrier’s ADEN 25mm cannon. It malfunctioned, shed parts, and threw ammo links at the aircraft. After thousands of rounds, they binned it in '99. 24 years of trying. That’s why British Harriers went to war without guns. 🇬🇧🤦‍♂️
