I migrated from 1PW to Apple Passwords. I had around 1,000 records across 5 vaults. I took me 3 hours in total. My initial impressions are that Apple Passwords is basic and a little slow. Some notes:

Apple Passwords is more flexible during import than normal. This caused some surprises when importing and then moving records to a Shared Group. A record must have both a username and password.

There is no "per vault" export for 1PW. The 1PW export does not include vault name either. I chose to use the Travel Mode workaround. I flagged a single vault as available in Travel Mode and set my account to Travel Mode. This allowed me to export on a per-vault basis.

Apple Passwords does not support esoteric 1PW record types such as bank accounts, credit cards, license keys, api keys, etc I manually converted these into a format that made sense.

1PW export format is different from Apple Passwords import format. I used `xsv` to omit archived records and reformat ``` xsv search -s Archived '^false$' export.csv \ | xsv select Title,Url,Username,Password,Notes,OTPAuth > import.csv ```

pg-connection-string 2.8.1 is out. Major features are better #typescript compatibility and a flag for libpq compatibility. The libpq compatibility should make it easier to connect to managed postgres services that require TLS connections. github.com/brianc/node-...

What is up with people prefixing #typescript interfaces with a capital "I". Example: `interface IContext { ... }`. They are not prefixing classes with a capital "C" nor are they prefixing types with a capital "T". Why is interface getting this special treatment?

Some thoughts on one of the things I’m proudest of in my whole career: having contributed a new chapter on async #rustlang and done all the major revisions for the #Rust2024 edition release. Having my name here is an honor! ⚙️🦀 v5.chriskrycho.com/elsewhere/tr...

v5.chriskrycho.comThe Rust Programming Language, 2024 Edition — Sympolymathesy, by Chris KrychoOut with Rust 1.85 and the 2024 Edition is a significant update to the official Rust book: with me as an author and a new chapter on async Rust!

At home: I could rewrite my app from work-stealing to thread-per-core to make better use of cpu affinity to squeeze out that last bit of performance. At work: My container exists in a k8s kublet using "CPU-manager-policy: none" which lives on a multi-tenant cloud VM.

hyper in curl needs a champion. A backing vendor or distro that wants it.❤️ Why? Report after report: Memory un-safety. Is. BAD. A #rustlang HTTP backend in #curl has potential to make the internet safer. 🦀 But it needs a champion to back it, or it will go away. 🚀 seanmonstar.com/blog/hyper-i...

@mitsuhiko.at I saw a post where you wrote > For instance if you call `console.log` in a promise you will leak an async local forever. I would be interested in learning how exactly that happens. Do you have a simple example and/or something I could read to learn more?

I have been using git for so long that it feels effortless to use. Using jj recently has been painful because the primitives are different. I am a big believer in powerful primitives and see some real potential in jj. I am enjoying the journey so far.

Rust Developer: Hey, what's the semantics of this struct inode* return value? Linux Maintainer: Guess :) Rust Developer: Uhh... Result<Either<ARef<INote<T>>, inode::New<T>>? Linux Maintainer: Wrong :( You will never force me to learn Rust :D
