Gaza Freedom Flotilla has released statement that Black labour leader Chris Smalls (Amazon Labour Union) faced violence that no one else on Handala did. He has been severely beaten in Israeli custody. Smalls follows in legacy of Black radical tradition for Palestine. Labour must stand for Smalls.

Although Sinners highlights the commonality of the Black and Irish experience (while also creating one of my favourite villains of all time), people should not assume the Irish at the time believed in that commonality. In fact, the lethal extent of anti-black Irish racism is ugly, ugly, ugly.

This morning I dragged myself out of bed at 3:00 to head to the West End Bridge in hopes of capturing the moon over PPG Place and the Christmas tree at the Point in #Pittsburgh. Luckily the clouds stayed away for long enough to allow that to happen. Made for an amazing view.
