1. LLM-generated code tries to run code from online software packages. Which is normal but 2. The packages don’t exist. Which would normally cause an error but 3. Nefarious people have made malware under the package names that LLMs make up most often. So 4. Now the LLM code points to malware.

I switched to linux a few days ago because windows was being a little cunt but I can't leave windows yet so I'm trying to install it again since 1am, it's now 5am and I remember it not being such a pain in the ass to install windows is this only me?

I've been learning unity this is what I got going so far, I used pygame before this and compared to that unity seems so easy it's so nice to just have so many tools #indiedev #gamedev

If you are planning on learning Unity I recommend "Lost Relic Games" on YouTube If you search tutorials on YouTube you'll probably be greeted with Brackeys I won't say he's bad but he uses some pre-made stuff in his tutorials which won't be useful if you want to learn how to do everything #gamedev

I can't speak for all of Lost Relic Games' videos but the one I watched he made plenty of mistakes and explained most of the things it's nice to see his correct his mistakes and just explain stuff, It's not the best tutorial but I liked it

Someone logged in to my Microsoft account So I tried to login myself to change password because it wasn't me earlier and here's where it gets interested I get an otp for ME to sign in meanwhile someone else signed in and they didn't need any otp

The only reason you need to build a game engine is if no other engine does what you need or if you want to learn, any other reason is just not worth it #Gamedev #Indiedev

One of the biggest questions in 2024 was if developers should move on from Unity and other proprietary engines, and if so, how? At GDC 2024, developer Rez Graham made a case for building your own engine, outlining the available tools, as well as some pitfalls #GDBestof2024

So… Nancy Parker was fired? Ms Parker is the woman who worked at McDonald’s and turned in Luigi Mangione. McDonald’s fired Parker because she talked to police on company time. I’m wondering if she gets it now ? Corporations do not care about us .

I always didn't care when people said they didn't like Funkopops and I was like okay but now I don't think I'll ever buy a FunkoPop in my life after what they did to @itch.io recently they can go fuck themselves

For all of you programmers or anyone who has a thousand tabs open try this extension I just got to know of it, you can save all of your tabs without having them open all the time I was thinking of just making one like this myself so this saves me some trouble addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefo...

addons.mozilla.orgTab Session Manager – Get this Extension for 🦊 Firefox (en-US)Download Tab Session Manager for Firefox. Save and restore the state of windows and tabs. It also supports automatic saving and cloud sync.

Apparently Sony tried to patent the rewind mechanic you know like the one in Prince of Persia or in Forza Horizon And I've heard more patents like this how is this allowed like I doubt most gamedevs even know about these insane patents #gamedev #videogames

I'm no old lady, but this is me with programming, I used to think it's not for me but after doing this for a few years you're wrong if you think you can't do it, anyone can, so if you want to do it then do it you can do it

a major problem with bluesky is that i can offhandedly remark "i hate drawing, its too hard" and then a sweet old lady will gently encourage me and kindly point me to some useful resources to get started drawing and i dont know what to do with myself

I Made an Open Source Tool Similar to Steam’s Cloud Saves It Backups Your Games Automatically Locally or to Google Drive Please Check It Out Here’s a Demo #steam #playnite #videogames #games #github #opensource

Here's a bit of what I did with electron today because I think it's cool, This is gonna be a long 🧵 Electron uses a lot of memory because the GUI is just a browser window to optimize that I tried to just hide my app to tray since all the logic runs on the main process keywords:react programming

But electron needs you to have a window open at all times so I had to create a 2nd window with nothing and then hide it then close the 1st window to have less memory usage, it was a pain to make but it was worth it

You are up to date.
