18 February 2033: The first recorded Category 3 hurricane ever to form in February made landfall just past noon today, just east of Pensacola, FL. Scientists say this is likely only a first of many similar storms as greenhouse gas emissions continue unabated in the U.S. and other countries.

15 February 2036: New York State announces plans to join New Jersey and Connecticut in ending vehicle emissions testing as air pollution plunges following the mass adoption of electric vehicles and the shift to renewable power generation. Proposals for replacing testing sites are being discussed.

15 February 2027: Democrats and Republicans unite to override President Trump's veto transferring control of DHS to an independent board, including ICE, TSA, and the FBI. Democrats lacking the votes to dismantle the embattled department, agreed to the change in authority as a compromise.
