The Simpsons are exploring the abandoned Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser in a new episode titled "The Kosmic Kruiser" Bart and Lisa will "break into Krustyland's most notorious failed attraction", and Jenny Nicholson will voice a character 🔗 blogmickey.com/2026/10/simp...

the square blue sign on the outline is such an interesting style, especially given that we see two signs here - it must have been the standard for the attraction!

Former Disney CEO Bob Iger is releasing a new book. 'ONE LAST TIME: Managing Crisis and Building Resilience at Disney,' written with Dan Schwerin, will cover Iger's second stint as CEO when he was "challenged in ways he never imagined." The book will be published March 2, 2027.

The "singles and doubles" could never end at WDW until just about every attraction gets touched (which would be a good thing!). Some new show effects in the 5th dimension room (or a whole new idea in there and the hallway) would be great. Interesting.

Could changes be coming to the Tower of Terror attraction? The voice actor for Rod Sterling recently visited Imagineering, hinting at new work 🔗 blogmickey.com/2026/10/are-...

I'm up early preparing for the large local potluck furry meet in Irvine, appropriately called Furvine! I bring cookies almost every meet. Mostly just fun hanging out with fellow fuzzies under a fun context - which reminds me so much of my Disneyland Sunday meets for MiceChat.

Always great to see this continue somewhere in the resort!

My little alerter script was going wild with availability or not for today, but it did rain this afternoon so it appears they opened it wide. Next week is starting to get more dates reserved, but we'll have to see how it all shakes out. 30th still gone from pre-change.

Hastin@hastin.net

As expected, due to lack a penalty, there's no "friday flap" going on right now for tomorrow. My curiosity will be to see if tomorrow opens throughout the day, or if there's some openings around when people cancel in the late afternoon (if they do).

i also suspect this is gonna take them a couple of weeks to figure out the friday data and no-show percentage to bake that into the amount in the future

Today opened for a bit this morning, but that's about it. Tomorrow now sold out, it will be curious to see if it reopens or not.

I think the Chapek book is gonna have some long term damage on the Disney brand. The thing is that probably everyone in SoCal at some point was either a passholder, knew a passholder, or aspired to be a passholder. The #1 article on OC Register and seems to be going viral in ways not expected.

The Dude Abides@thedudeabidesman.bsky.social

Tell that to my credit card statement bud.

SoCal basically rejected Disney in the 80s to early 00s for; being expensive, feeling cheap (especially DCA), and just feeling that it wasn't for them. Ouimet turned that around for the 50th and created a level of success that the future leaders just took for granted. It'll die again in a cycle.

very excited for all the disneyland influencers to show up to disneyland tomorrow, book a reservation, and then stand outside the gate at 11:00pm, not use it, and be like "Well, we did it. Thanks for sticking with me and the super chats while I tested this new feature."

josh d'amaro casually walking up to the gates at 10:15pm - making a happy face, and taking selfies from people outside the gates while he is inside the gates

Like did they send out a "no we actually care about our passholder community" email from the president of Disneyland because of the Chapek book? I feel like they would have just been like "good news!" before.

Thoughts: No price increases means that they've reached the top of the market right now. I don't see this minor operational change being a huge new draw for people to buy/renew either, this feels more to engage renewals or existing passholders.

No more Disneyland No-show penalty

it's kinda fucking crazy that Uni somehow got a parks character into Fortnite proper before the whole "we ARE fortnite we gave Epic a billion dollars" Disney did!

Here’s a look at the Jack the Clown Fortnite bundle now available for 2,000 V-Bucks.

In a way (especially the ceiling columns), very similar to what they did to the Muppet theater at DCA when they converted it into Frozen Fun (and then Sunset Showcase). I wonder if they are thinking of flexing this show into DCA too. Might be a fun replacement when/if Monsters closes.

A third Welcome to Monstropolis pre-show concept art is out, with a new green and gold color scheme and renamed concessions. https://www.wdwmagic.com/attractions/Welcome-to-Monstropolis/news/05oct2026-disney-releases-third-version-of-welcome-to-monstropolis-pre-show-concept-art.htm

The Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind pre-show has been updated to remove a pause that invited guests to yell a response 🔗 blogmickey.com/2026/10/cosm... Aspiring comedians often used the moment to shout out something obnoxious, with "alcoholics" as the go-to punchline

they should have just edited the guardians pre-show when it was quiet to add the Ellen "audience shouting" audio "sleep study" "cut to black" "DREAM SEQUENCE!"

Happy 55th Walt Disney World! Thanks for all the trips, fun, and memories over the years. You'll always be one of my favorite places in the world.

All this resentment, I feel - started at the 24 hour 60th party, when Michael Colglazer got a late-night call saying that the party had blocked I-5 North and that they needed to do something about it - and Disneyland was empty because they didn't plan correctly.

So I just finished the first section of the Chapek book, and I’ll sum it up like this: I have often accused TWDC of actively resenting their parks guests, and some folks said that was too far, but this book is proof straight from the source that I was absolutely spot on with that assessment

I miss it. A lot. I miss the old community and what it was. I miss the purpose, the fun, and why I wanted to live and work in Irvine to begin with. I miss the evenings spent at the resort after work, the ambition of the entertainment and operations to keep that audience enagaged.

The continued contempt that they show for their customers makes me wonder if all the good guys are gone. I can count on one hand the number of my friends that still hold an AP, er, I mean Magic Key. That used be hundreds.

Mine was that same Tandy 1000! Got it for $5 from a Garage Sale in like ~1993. Called Radio Shack to see if they had DOS disks for it, and they helped me find/make some!

McDonald's isn't doing the free codes via the Internet this year, and instead switched back to sending a SASE to a PO Box. They must have given away so much stuff. I was getting my full 8 codes via the web everyday almost the whole game.
