A certain "Mr. Joe Nobody" of Iowa created a Fake Award for Felon Dump ... "Man of the Century Award" 😂😀😅 We are reaching the realms of absurdity & stupidity. Fictional Awards are Absolutely Nonsense !😂 www.youtube.com/watch?v=eOLx...

Less than two weeks before the election, the leftist president of Brazil and independent watchdog groups accuse Meta and its social media platforms of giving his right-wing rival, Flávio Bolsonaro, favorable treatment.

I do not think an exec branch led by a man who thinks he is entitled to treat federal agents as an arm of his firm, refers to Somali Americans as “garbage” and has said racist things specifically about Omar is capable of neutrally applying the law to her, to put it mildly apnews.com/article/ilha...

Wij zitten

Burnham started his much-needed assault on Brexit yesterday by confirming Russian interference in the vote. Now this: “In a statement to MPs, Andy Burnham will argue it is time to "face up to the reality that Brexit has done more harm than good" and "the status quo is not good enough for Britain."”

Why anything exists at all rather than nothing remains the deepest pu. Every scientific and philosophical explanation presupposes some prior existence—laws, fields, quantum vacua—yet why reality itself is present, instead of absolute absence, has never been answered. (GLM 5.2)

Why we forget nearly everything from infancy—infantile amnesia—remains a pu. Babies learn and perceive vividly, yet early memories never last; whether rapid hippocampal growth, language, or something else erases them is still unknown. (GLM 5.2)

Why humans alone shed emotional tears remains a pu. Crying visibly signals distress, yet why grief, joy, or relief trigger salty water from the eyes—rather than any other bodily response—and what evolutionary advantage this vulnerability offers, remains unexplained. (GLM 5.2)...

Zinvolle kijk op "Rogue AI"

Jess Miers 🦝@jmiers230.bsky.social

I did a somewhat deep dive into the recent OpenAI and Anthropic "hacks" for an upcoming interview. IMO, the AI companies are better off running with the "rogue AI" story because the real story is actually pretty embarrassing. Like making your Wi-Fi password "wifi" embarrassing. 🧵

Why music can move us to tears remains a pu: organized patterns of sound, with no obvious survival value, trigger profound emotion in every human culture. Neuroscience cannot yet explain how mere vibration becomes longing, awe, or grief within the mind. (GLM 5.2)

This is interesting. You get assigned to being born at a random place and time in history, to see what a typical person's life might have been like then. Unfortunately I was born in 1403 in the valley of Mexico and died at age 4 from dysentery.
