I am proud to reintroduce my Resolution in support of designating October 17th as National Vitiligo Awareness Day. In a world that is increasingly unkind about the things that make us unique, I will always stand with and support all who live with skin disease.

Throughout GA-04 and beyond, we recognize and celebrate the many cultures, histories, and contributions of Indigenous peoples. On Indigenous Peoples’ Day, we recommit to honoring the communities and traditions that have endured across generations and continue to shape our country.

Everyone deserves access to the care, support, and resources they need to thrive. This World Mental Health Day, we recommit to ending the stigma and making mental health care more accessible to all.

On the third anniversary of the horrific October 7th attack that claimed more than 1200 lives, I continue calling for the immediate and permanent end to the bloodshed that continues to this day. We must never give up on the prospect of a lasting peace in the Middle East.

I am always grateful for the opportunity to speak with Dr. Valerie Montgomery Rice, President and CEO of Morehouse School of Medicine. The work that MSM has done for the greater Atlanta community and beyond, even despite cuts to federal funding and grants, is invaluable and encouraging.

The cost of diesel fuel is at a record high while Trump is encouraging big tech to continue building enormous data centers in our backyards. These consequences of Trumps’s self-serving polices and my Republican colleagues’ mindless support for them have become the reality for millions of Americans.

Happy Hispanic Heritage Month! We celebrate the history, culture, and contributions of Hispanic communities across GA-04 and our nation. Proud to have honored Georgia Latino Alliance for Human Rights at our H.O.P.E. Awards. This month and always, we celebrate those who help make our country GREAT.

Trump is promising Americans a $5,000 “dividend” if Republicans win (which is illegal btw). Meanwhile, his family has gotten billions richer as everyday Americans have suffered the costs.

Maybe the Trump dividends should be coming out of the Trump profits, not taxpayer dollars.

Dr. Lonnie Bunch’s tenure at the Smithsonian is as historic as the artifacts, art and stories he so brilliantly curated. His legacy extends far beyond the National Museum of African American History & Culture, and far beyond Washington’s petty politics.

Happy Labor Day! Today, we celebrate the workers and labor unions whose hard work keeps our communities moving. I’ll always stand with working people and fight for good jobs, fair wages, and an economy that works for everyone.

After visiting the Stewart Detention Facility last week, I saw firsthand the deplorable conditions that demand scrutiny — not silence.  When conditions are unacceptable, our responsibility is to ask questions and seek answers.

I stand with Rep. McIver. We cannot allow this administration to weaponize the Department of Justice to intimidate members of Congress into silent submission and undermine our constitutional responsibility to conduct oversight.

While the recent #SCOTUS ruling cleared the path for Trump to attack mail-in ballots, there are 2 cases pending that could stop the administration in their tracks. Either way, injecting needless uncertainty into our elections this week is proof that we need court reform now.

I’m deeply saddened at the news that Dolly Parton has passed away. A brilliant and prolific songwriter and a generous, authentic and compassionate woman, she will be missed. “I Will Always Love You”.

For generations, Americans have fought to expand access to the ballot - not restrict it. We cannot turn back the clock on voting rights. Every eligible voter deserves the opportunity to make their voice heard.

While ICE continues to terrorize immigrant communities under Trump’s America, private, for-profit detention facilities like Stewart Detention Facility in Lumpkin, GA use taxpayer dollars to deny those detainees access to basic human rights. This cruelty must come to an end.

DeKalb County has lost a legend. Saddened to learn of the passing of Coach Buck Godfrey. It was an honor to recognize him earlier this year for his extraordinary contributions to our community. His impact on generations of young people will never be forgotten. Rest in peace, Coach.

Under Donald Trump, ICE has become abusive. Children are being locked away and traumatized at the Dilley Trailer Prison. They have done nothing wrong. I’m demanding Trump #ShutDownDilley and free the children.

Congratulations to Hudson for winning this year's Congressional Art Competition for Georgia's Fourth Congressional District. It was wonderful to meet him and his mom when they visited DC, and to learn more about his art and his goals for the future.

Voters remain focused on the facts that he and his wealthy friends are getting richer as gas, groceries and housing cost are driving everyone else towards the poorhouse, while his war of choice against Iran spirals out of control.

At this 250-year mark of the beginning of American democracy, we see democracy for all under attack. Unfortunately, it's the United States Supreme Court that's leading the movement to deconstruct our democracy, and it must be reformed.

Happy World Vitiligo Day! Vitiligo is not only a cosmetic condition, but also an autoimmune disorder that impacts 70 million people around the globe, including me. I am proud to stand alongside Vitiligo patients around the world.

Today, the Supreme Court allowed Donald Trump and Stephen Miller to withdraw Temporary Protected Status from the 11,000 Haitians that live in Georgia, and the 350,000 that live across the country. It is a sad day, but we will continue to fight.

Happy Father's Day to all our fathers out here in GA-04 & beyond. Let's celebrate our fathers -- step-fathers, fathers-in-law, mentors, coaches, anyone who is a role model making a positive impact on our families and communities. We need your steady hand now more than ever.

On June 19, 1865, Union General Gordon Granger delivered an order to finally enforce the Emancipation Proclamation, freeing 250,000 enslaved Black Texans. Today, we celebrate that freedom and recommit to today’s fight for justice and equality. Happy Juneteenth!

This National Gun Violence Awareness Day, I am wearing orange to honor victims and survivors of gun violence. We must remain committed to advancing solutions that keep our communities safe and prevent more tragedies from taking place.

Pride Month is a celebration of authenticity, community, and resilience. The defiant spirit of the Stonewall uprising taught us we must never back down from a fight for dignity. In today's trying times, I proudly stand with LGBTQI+ Americans in GA-04 and beyond. Happy Pride Month!
