Every attendee of Goatmire received a badge running AtomVM on an ESP32. Games were made, badges were clustered and meshed. It was wild :) Photos by Petter Boström. #elixirlang #goatmire

The BEAM Bots workshop gave each attendees a balance robot. These work ridiculously well now and experiments continue in the Nerves Discord. #elixirlang #goatmire

I managed to end up in a workshop where I got to learn how to actually build stuff on this ESP32 ”name badge” from this year’s #goatmire, so I obviously had to create a Doom-like game on it. Drawback now is that I’m entirely convinced I can build any kind of smart home device/toy.

I am absolutely over the moon about this 😁 The #Goatmire badge (running #AtomVM) controlling the Goatmire balance bot (running #Nerves and #BeamBots, rendering display with #Emerge) via #Erlang distribution Thanks @lawik.bsky.social for the display PR 🫶

Really excited to be back! Prep for #Goatmire kept us busy in September, but now I feel like the community has been injected with a bunch of new energy after seeing a lot of really cool projects and hardware in Varberg. Come join us! #ElixirLang #NervesMeetup #Nerves

Peter and I sat down the last day of #goatmire and recorded the latest episode in person, covering the latest #ElixirLang news and conference recap. One of our best episodes yet, if I do say so myself 😄 Available on all the podcast apps, soon to be uploaded to YouTube as well!

Almost done with the last Nerves project for the Elixir Conf training! Excited to see everyone next week! #ElixirLang #MyElixirStatus #Erlang

@peterullrich.com it just occurred to me that from the title it might sound like we’re fitness buffs and we exclusively talk about our diets/workouts and how to get enough macros to gain muscle… 🤔😂 I can assure everyone that we prefer to talk about the #ElixirLang macros instead 😄

For a round trip journey including 4 buses and 11 trains and an average scheduled layover time of about 15 mins (max 30m, min 4m). I am absolutely SHOCKED that we didn’t miss a single connection. Even despite the fact that 8 of those connections were on Deutsche Bahn 😅

Though credit where credit is due, DB did try to maintain their reputation. Our casual 30 min lunch layover was reduced to just a 2 min sprint. Probably would have missed the connection if it weren’t for the fact that the platforms were pretty close to each other

That being said - I love the fact that I have the option of taking a 600km journey via public transport to get way up in the mountains. Backpack hut-to-hut for a couple days, ending in a different town. And then 600km public transport back. No car required.

This was a lot of fun to record thé first episode with @peterullrich.com 😄 We’ve got some big shoes to fill, but hopefully this can be your new source of elixir ecosystem news and discussion, in audio format. This is just the beginning, there is much more mayhem to come!

Physical computing is just so satisfying to me. Write some code, then it _does something_ in the real world I recently finished some Nerves drivers for an NFC reader/writer chip, as well as a speaker driver/headphone amp. Today I wrote a demo app. Scan an NFC tag, then it plays some audio 😌👌
