I just finished the game, and I really liked it. I have one main complaint: too many paths and choices, which - instead of pushing me to replay it - left me frustrated. Also, some puzzles could have used a bit of signposting. But the game is very good and funny, I recommend it!

“Fueled by charming 1980s nostalgia, this throwback adventure from the creator of D3AD HAND rocks!”- Serena Nelson reviewed Escape from 8-Bit High for AGH. adventuregamehotspot.com/review/7529/... #indiegame #adventuregame #pcgame #induegames

I'm really enjoying Escape from 8-Bit High, but there's something about this alien's voice that feels odd

There's a lot of talk about AI cloning of videogames lately, with indie devs now hiding their ideas and mechanics in fear of being copied. And I'm like... good luck cloning an adventure game from a couple of screenshots or a vague description of the plot! 😄

So, one flees Twitter for BSky to escape from the bullshit, and what do they do? You know what, I'm fed up with social networks. We need to go back to the old days of Internet made of personal websites and blogs you had to go to.

I might give in. I just downloaded Visionaire and I'll try to remake the first room from Eulogy For Nonno just to understand how waysystems and animations work. I don't think I want to leave PowerQuest, but it's always good to have more tools in your toolbox.

There's still time to join the #MadeWithVisionaireJam You'll have 2 weeks to make something in the Visionaire Studio game engine. itch.io/jam/made-wit...

I *will* be streaming. Probably even earlier, maybe 19:15. Don't forget to follow me to be notified, I'm 2112guga on Twitch. Maybe I'll change my name to Gugames someday.

Gugames@gugames.eu

I'll probably be streaming #110AdvChal games on twitch tonight too, at around 19:30 CEST. Will I be able to finish the last 7 games in one stream?

This time I remembered to put the discounts for #SteamAutumnSale! My award winning point and click game is 30% off 😁 hard puzzles and plenty of jokes in this fully voiced, retro, comedy adventure game, don't miss it!

I'll be streaming some more #110AdvChal games in around 30 minutes. I have less time today (90 minutes at best) but I hope to get through another six/seven games.

Stream over, I had fun. I really want to do this more often. I went through six games in 2.5h, so I'll need two or three more streams to finish. Thanks for everyone who stopped by. The recording is on my Twitch channel if you want to have a look!

I really want to livestream my judging process for the #110AdvChal so I'm now making some preparations, if I manage to set everything up I'll be live tomorrow between 3pm and 4:30pm CEST / UTC+2. Stay tuned!

I was busy all day with our chess tournament, which has been an unexpected success (22 participants, everything went smoothly), so I haven't followed #110AdvChal at all. I see we have 19 entries for now. Gonna try to find a day to play them on livestream this year.

Our chess club is holding a tournament this Sunday and I was stressed by the organization. Our goal was at least 20 participants and yesterday we only had 11. I even had nightmares tonight that everything was going wrong. Then I woke up and we're now 16. Why do people wait for the last minute?

I'm currently 1 for 2. Lost the first one with a dumb mistake on move 7, won the second one recovering from a not ideal position. It turns out my opening prep is utter crap, I have to study more. Now three more turns to score the 1.5 points I need to reach my personal goal.

I'm glad I'm not participating in #110AdvChal because tomorrow I have a full day chess tournament and the first Saturday in the jam is always sacred for me.

What innocuous stuff had an enormous butterfly effect in your lives? In my case, that would be adding a Uni colleague on MSN Messenger after seeing a new nickname the Uni group chat. If I woke up 10 years later, I'd be VERY puzzled as to why I'm now living in Zurich and I have two kids with her.

#110AdvChal has started and the theme has so much potential, I kinda regret not being a participant. I can't wait to see what people come up with! itch.io/jam/110-adve...

I love gamedev cause it makes me focus on many things: writing, drawing, music. Especially the latter - I used to play, but I've never been very good. Making music for my games scratches that itch. Here's the theme from Farty Party's, the frustrating mini-game from The Will of Arthur Flabbington.

I went to a local food festival and half of the vendors had AI-gen pics of their menu items. Blatant false advertisement aside (you're not gonna get a meal that is so abundant for sure), they all looked revolting. There was a tiramisu that looked like it had warts. I wonder why they keep doing this.

I'm excited to announce that I'll be back as a judge to my favorite game jam series! itch.io/jam/110-adve... I'm glad I got offered this opportunity because I don't think I'd have time to join it, I have another project I want to work on (more on that soon). Can't wait to play your games!

We've always had slop entries to the series, by people who only cared about the prize. They were asset flips then, they will be AI slop now. Either way, they never score well, because they lack a fundamental care about the craft.

That's why, despite being an AI hater, I'll try to ignore it. Because in the end people will understand that AI isn't the missing piece of the puzzle that will finally turn them into creatives. If you were a creative person, you'd have been one even before AI came into the picture.

Side note about AI usage: I know this series allows for AI and I am pretty much against it... but I trust the community enough to know that the games making use of AI will be a negligible minority.

Game jams are a celebration of human creativity, and in a jam that also allows to use pre-made assets, there's no need to use AI to cut corners. And if you care about your game enough to look for the right music instead of telling Suno to spit out one, it's noticeable in the end result.

If I had a nickel for every World Cup where Spain doesn't win the first game due to a player born in Cape Verde then beats Portugal 1-0 in the ko phase and eventually wins the final 1-0 after extra time while a man up, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.

On the train to work, a man in front of me is wearing this shirt ❤️ I *had* to tell him I loved it. It's always cool to find adventure game fans out in the wild!

Was Vargas vs Vargas the first time two people with the same surname faced each other in a penalty shootout at the World Cup?

I was going to be in Sardinia with my family today, but my flight got cancelled. At least it didn't get hijacked to an undisclosed location. Have you played Mutiny on the Clodia? It's part of Adventure Jampilation, my free compilation of adventure games on Steam!

Just found out that there was another public viewing 10 minutes away from where I live. I walked 45 minutes uphill for nothing.

Wake up at 4 and walk 5km to go watch the game with other people. I love the World Cup 🇨🇭

I TAKE BACK EVERYTHING I'VE SAID SO FAR THIS IS THE BEST WORLD CUP EVER 🇨🇻🇨🇻🇨🇻🇨🇻🇨🇻🇨🇻🇨🇻🇨🇻🇨🇻🇨🇻🇨🇻

Fuck Trump, fuck Infantino and fuck FIFA, but hearing the whole stadium sing the Mexican anthem was very moving. That's what the world cup should be about. I just wish Mexico was the only host country.

AI is becoming more and more human-like. It's now telling me to use a variable that has a typo in it and doesn't exist in the code. "It will boost productivity!"

I didn't talk at all 🤣 only the club president talked, I was just there playing chess with him. But hey, I was on national TV!

Gugames@gugames.eu

I'll be on national TV today 😅 if you're able to see Swiss television, I'll be on RSI La1 at 17:00 CEST. I won't be talking about games though. I'm there as a representative of my local chess club. Well chess *is* a game. But you know what I meant.
