Democrats must dissect the "Affordability" message into its components to fulfill its promise and make it more than a campaign theme. Affordability is more than lowering prices. It means serving the General Welfare by raising taxes on the ultra-wealthy and wages for workers to a true living wage.

Dick Cheney serves as a reminder that standard GOP strategy is anti-democratic, based on controlling the least populated states, thereby manipulating the electoral college and the Senate. Had Cheney lived and run for office in even a mid-sized state, I doubt we'd have heard of him at all.
