Join Prof. K. Allison Hammer and the Center for Diversity, Media and Law tomorrow, May 28, at 5 PM Frankfurt time for their talk on developments in transmasc research and activism.

This talk works to contextualize events in Minneapolis within the current administration’s discursive strategy of attacking Renée Good and Alex Pretti and denying responsibility for their deaths after they were shot by ICE agents.

America is under siege. Where is the Fourth Estate’s defense of democracy and the Constitution? How many newspaper Editorial Boards have called for President Trump's impeachment (or even resignation)? 👇 bsky.app/profile/medi...

A 🧵 How many newspaper Editorial Boards have called for Pres. Trump's impeachment (or resignation)? As far as we know, only one: @sentinelcolorado.com Our 2 part series: journalism, trust, press freedom & how a local newspaper serves its community-and democracy. open.substack.com/pub/mediaand...

Héctor Hoyos and Jorge González-Jácome shared their reading of Garcia Márquez’s fictions as a form of legal pluralism that explores how power is constituted by the people imaginatively.

I was honored to be a part of the manuscript workshop “Garcia Márquez as Law: A Study in Constituent Power and the Imagination” at Stanford University on 10 October 2025.

In July, Anat Rosenberg spoke in my Political Healing seminar about her forthcoming text “Hope against Autocratic Legalism during the Democratic Crisis in Israel.” Her words about maintaining hope during a period of increasing autocracy have accompanied me during the past months. @diml.bsky.social

I was honored to serve as a facilitator at the summer school CRITICAL TIMES 2025 DISRUPTIONS with a session on “Disrupting the Affective Work of Anti-Immigration Narratives and Images“. The Institute is offering Visitor Fellowships that one can apply for until 30 September 2025: lnkd.in/eBNEtynx.

Please join us tomorrow, on 22 July 2025, at 11 AM CET, for the founding event of the Legal Humanities Association (LHA). The association places Law and Humanities research and methodologies ever more squarely on the academic map. More information can be found here: lnkd.in/e-CJQShR.

Looking forward to speaking at the GGS Summer Event 2025 on June 11. I will give a guest talk, titled "Trump 2.0: The Return & the Resistance," which will cover political pushback, activism, and hope. Register by June 4 via the QR code below or this link: shorturl.at/TSjFg. #TheReturn #TheResistance

Today is Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Let's focus on Dr. King's vision of social justice rather than events in Washington, DC. Join us for Dr. Simona Adinolfi's talk on labor exploitation and migration tomorrow at 4:15, Frankfurt time. Everyone is welcome. @diml.bsky.social

Gratified by Azka Anees' recent review of the 2022 Oxford UP book. Anees applies the book's model of cultural legal analysis to recent events in Canada and carries out the argument that "aesthetics can be used to interrogate and critique the law." Thank you for this thoughtful review.

Was honored to introduce Andreas von Arnauld's extraordinary talk on 20 Nov at JLU Giessen on how metaphors and narratives interact in ECtHR adjudication. Happy that this interdisciplinary intervention took place within the MeDiMi, whose work is more relevant than ever.

After the shock, the critical autopsy of the results of the US elections continues, now in light of the political instability in Germany. I will be discussing transnational Trumpism with Christian Lammert, Emanuel Bergmann, and Dr. Lea Conrad tomorrow in German at daz Stuttgart. @diml.bsky.social.
