I worked at Burger King for a shift and a half. I got sick of it and walked across the street to a grocery store, got hired on the spot, walked back and quit in the middle of my shift.

Jalen Hurts has been ruled out against the Carolina Panthers with what the team is calling a “superficial blood clot.” More here: https://www.nbcsportsphiladelphia.com/nfl/philadelphia-eagles/jalen-hurts-out-with-blood-clot-panthers-eagles-statement/758829/

Phila Inquirer endorses Bob Harvie: "U.S. Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick (R., Pa.) has been a member of Congress for nearly a decade, and it is difficult to determine what exactly he has accomplished. Fitzpatrick, 52, claims to be a problem solver, but he is really part of the problem."

I seem to remember him taking a different approach for the Central Park 5

Trump on giant AI companies: "They're gonna police. They're gonna police each other. They're gonna self-police. They're gonna police themselves. It's gonna work out very well."

On the *same day* the Cornell Seven drugged and raped Jane Doe, Cornell banned four students (including the President of Cornell JVP) from campus for three years for nonviolent, pro-Palestine protests. The same Cornell officials let the rapists off with apology essays.

Every time I see “gamble responsibly” on these ads it feels like a drug dealer telling me to do drugs responsibly. Hey buddy, here’s your heroin. Enjoy responsibly! Here’s a number for narcotics anonymous. Like what are we even doing here?

Online sportsbooks say they do not want business from problem gamblers. So @propublica.org's Jake Pearson spent 10 weeks on DraftKings testing how the company would react to someone displaying all the hallmarks of a compulsive bettor. Spoiler: It made him a VIP. www.propublica.org/article/draf...

Now that we’re in the age of AI I feel extremely vindicated in being lazy about documentation. You can’t have my secrets, Anthropic. The integrations I’ve built live and die with me.

If a man told me he takes risks at his job, I would find that relatable before ultimately laughing in his face if he explained he sat at a desk and played with someone else’s money all day.

It makes a lot of sense that a man with no soul thinks music and art are worthless

President Trump is banning students majoring in degrees that don’t make enough money from taking out college loans. Degrees for social work, art, religious studies, teaching aides, and music will be hit the hardest. trib.al/aaAEu6v

So trans people had to be kicked out of the military because they might not be able to get their hormones in the field but now half the military will be stuffed to the gills with testosterone?

Shingles def feels like a curse. Like what do you mean a rash just appeared and now my back feels like someone slowly is pouring acid on it? If someone told me they cursed me I’d probably believe them.

Unreal 6 is going to deprecate blueprint in favor of AI assisted development. I can’t overstate how big of a mistake this is, and how devastating it’s going to be for Unreal. Just look at Microsoft. They put AI in all their products and are already rolling it back. What are these people thinking

You can make this same argument for communism. Communism itself? Probably fine. But it gets co-opted by, you guessed it, the rich and powerful. It’s one of the reasons I think socialism or socialism-lite (most of Europe) works. It allows competition but has mechanisms to solve for billionaires.

Kevin M. Kruse@kevinmkruse.bsky.social

Pablo makes a really important point here -- the people who are the real "threats to capitalism" are the billionaires who are showing everyone that the game is rigged.

Gotta say, at this point not using AI is a competitive advantage. The number of times in a day I have to point out something wrong because someone used AI to summarize a meeting or something is ridiculous.

Found it today that a guy on my block who listened to talk radio loud enough for the entire block to hear has died. I have outlived another of my enemies.

Excellent thread. I remain convinced that Fetterman was a different person before his stroke, and that lamb ran maybe the most tone deaf campaign I’ve seen in a long time.

Adam Bonin@adambonin.bsky.social

I'm exhausted by all the efforts to rewrite the history of the 2022 US Senate primary in Pennsylvania, with folks insisting "we told you so!" as to Fetterman, that Conor Lamb was always the better choice, and generally ignoring Malcolm Kenyatta's historic candidacy. So let me say a few things. 🧵1/
