It will be _good_ once a dozen other parts are fixed, but short term, it is quite handy (exported into a GLTF with the floor plane in real-world-scale units)

Finally! got a un-refined pose out! Auto tracked QR code so thats a little jittery - but homography & pose done on CPU or GPU (metal) so can try 1000's per frame at no cost.... onto the feature tracking!

does it run doom yet?

@pennengineering.bsky.social engineers created the first microrobots! Comparable in size to a single-celled organism and powered by light, they are capable of sensing, decision-making, and swimming through liquids for less than the cost of a penny! 🧪 www.science.org/doi/10.1126/...

I used to follow someone on twitter who made wonderful app icons... Do i follow any designers now, who can turn an idea (or hopefully, a better idea) into a clean design for an icon?

I've got a fun 3-day-a-week contract at the moment - but need to figure out the focus for the other two days - art would be nice, and have some projects there - but trying to come up with some long tail income... The current project (as I need it) is a vector-animation tool for swiftui & unity...

or make it without any framework and just vanilla webxr! going to try and top grave.quest this year

This year's #WebXR category in #js13k 2025 offers unique prize: Meta Quest 3S, thanks to the Meta Quest Japan team! js13kgames.com/2025/blog/we... Pick any of the "free" libraries (outside 13kb zip limit): A-Frame, BabylonJS, ThreeJS, or PlayCanvas, and build the best VR game! #gamedev #gamedevjs

Not sure I have much reach on Bluesky compared to twitter, but just in case - will be hanging around develop (Probably reading Pratchett outside the Tempest) in case anyone wants to chat about my current rabbit-hole; training & making gaussian splats (and animating them asap)

Yet another quadratic Bezier distance function 🧵,slightly cleaner than last time Premise: We want to calculate the distance to a quadratic Bezier curve, with as little effort as possible, ideally without evaluating the full quadratic Bezier curve itself, which involves solving a cubic equation.

Finally getting into this gaussian splat (->convex->triangles->graham's r&d) stuff at the training level... first step achieved - train from scratch & render output in swiftui/metal & unity & web! (Ultimate goal of some animated 3D scenes, but with some better representation than alpha soups)

There's an official term now

There's this last minute rush that you grow accustomed to with ADHD, where you enter a sort of 'Clown Time' zone and do a months worth of work in a week then sleep for 2 weeks after I'm circling the rim of the clown right now.

Is there anything as worrying as when your tv says "software update ready!" will it brick? will the wifi stop working again? will i be inundated with ads?

After being sick for the entirety of march, getting back into this a bit. Interop always existed between web/swift/unity/etc, but starting to make some web-components to play & spy on running games :) (all using same assets!)

After 9 days of flu, I'm coming to the end, but completely stumped as to what I should be doing for work... Wonder if its time to give up on freelance stuff for a while (the work is dead) and just get a job

Managed to get ARKit/ARFrame image streamed into a webkitview. Slow framerate is due to pixel by pixel blit to canvas... should be fine once it's a faster render to a webgl texture! So i think #webxr on ios is pretty doable! (Would be great if there was a faster way to get this image across though)
