Best flight boarding instruction I’ve heard in a while: “small electronic devices may be used in game mode, airplane mode, a la mode or Depeche Mode.” 😅

Final pilgrimage on this trip

Manchester is pretty much Disneyworld for music geeks.

Apparently Ed Sheeran’s dog just quit.

Hoping to get bd k from vacation before the convergence.

On Darby Day here in Manchester, may you both somehow lose today.

Listening to Stephen Morris’ autobiography some 800 feet from the former site of The Hacienda in Manchester. What a time it was….

England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 fans are appealing to FIFA, demanding that it uphold Quansah’s suspension.

Didn’t have John Denver pegged for Song of the Summer, but here we are.

Angry birds.

Another #TACOTuesday

Having fun at Coachella! So glad The XX are back!

Insane @iowahawkeyes.bsky.social

@fountainsofwayne.bsky.social were amazing on NYE in Chicago. Valley Winter Song was what I had been really hoping for on a frigid, windy night and they delivered! I really hope they carry on with this reunion.

Music highlight of my week: so I’m having a side conversation with this older couple in adult band, I say something, and from across the room the cool trans kid perks up and says, “Wait, did you just say that the Cocteau Twins do a cover of Frosty the Snowman?!” ☃️😊 @mrsimonraymonde.bsky.social

Nothing quite like watching the 2nd most corrupt person in the world present an award to the most corrupt person in the world. 🤮

Without a doubt Chloe Qisha was my #1 artist of 2025 and very much looking forward to her Toronto and Chicago shows next spring!

Last night Wembley Arena, shoegaze went mainstream…with zero compromise. @mbvofficial played blinding show to a floor of predominantly 20 somethings. Incredible to see eyes full of wonder at a new but thrilling spectacle for many. Felt old, it was my seventh show 😬

This is so extra.

Meet our newest Ambassador, Sofia Gonzalez! “Being a teacher against gun violence is a huge part of my life’s work. Teaching inner-city Chicago for many years & being very proximate, specifically to gang violence—it’s something I’ve been combatting for over a decade…Enough is absolutely enough.” ☮️📚📓

i know i’ll never be brutally murdered bc my smile does not light up a room

Remembering Mani. Only met him once but he was incredibly accommodating to me and my friends backstage at a show near Chicago. I hope to post the whole story when I get home this weekend. Legendary good guy first, legendary bass player second.

There is no escape from death, taxes or Pitbull.

Cake by me, iced by my magnificent wife. You've got to celebrate. #spacemen60

Dude is gonna learn so much about Skyrim and alternate tuning systems.

First time at the @saltshedchicago.bsky.social tonight. I like it! It’s kinda like the Aragon Ballroom without the imminent threat of death.

Phil Helmuth getting my autograph.

This is probably the best use of AI I’ve seen to date.

Starting a cover band called Fontaines of Wayne. We will only be playing @fontainesdc.bsky.social and @fountainsofwayne.bsky.social covers. DM if interested.

Full time. @cardsagainsthumanity.com 1, @spacex.extwitter.link 0.

Anybody reading this already has one Chicago Cubs World Series championship in your lifetime. We’ve already hit the over. @chicagocubbies.bsky.social @chicagocubs.bsky.social @chicagocubsuk.bsky.social

So this happened (yesterday at Rate Field). @whitesox may be giving me a call up. 😂

The view from my son’s dorm room window.

youtu.be/fciQyyH1AmY This may end up my favorite cover of 2025

Awaiting Oasis at Soldier Field but in the meantime here’s a 8 second clip of Oasis (but mostly of me jumping up and down) from their first visit to Chicago in 1994. Sorry it’s sideways.

Well I just got what I wanted for my birthday! 🎁 @cubsbot.bsky.social @cubszone.bsky.social @cubsinsider.bsky.social

55 times around the sun and still looking forward to new adventures!

I thought I was past the buying-the-wrong-size kitchen garbage bags part of my life, but, alas, here we are again.

Where do I pick up my award for Excellence in Parenting?

Blackpink concert at Soldier Field was absolutely epic. It’s their planet, we just get to live here. This one’s from Rosé’s solo set. “Toxic ‘Til The End” @blackpinkofficial.bsky.social @bpglobalnews.bsky.social @blackpinkbrasil.bsky.social @portalblackpink.bsky.social @streambpink.bsky.social

Paisley Park soundstage.

Today I played ping-pong on Prince’s ping-pong table. Swear to God.

@tao.bsky.social

@chicagocubsuk.bsky.social win sing the song!
