Have to say the results look pretty spectacular. The sunlight is fading, the temperature and leaves dropping. Not great conditions for staining with oil. The rest of this project will have to wait until Spring. 🙁

There are two people you should never lie to: your doctor and your lawyer. Especially not your lawyer.

Second coat of decking oil on the rails: gorgeous. White primer on the posts: a struggle. It took 4 hours to get this much primed. Lesson learned: use a stiff bristle paint brush to apply a fast-drying alkyd primer. Soft bristles just soak it up and you get nowhere.

Okay this is triggering me. Are they on HRT? Have they changed their gender marker on their driver's license? Have they begun flagging feminine in their apparel? I've a feeling this is just... How do you say... Performative Bullshit.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Royce White on Fox News: "I'm just having a blast in my feminine area. I never thought I was a woman. I've always trusted science and thought I was a man, but after further review, a strong look at my personal preferences, it would appear I am indeed sometimes identifying as a transgender woman"

Here's an idea for the media. Rather than allow a MAGA official to blame Joe Biden for the US's current situation, instead begin an interview stating a positive accomplishment by the previous administration, and get the official to address that.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

TAPPER: You said this was 'strongest job market in your lifetime.' By what metric? HASSETT: If you look at overall economy, things are booming T: 2 million jobs were created in the last 18 months of Biden's term. Are you really arguing your numbers are better? H: We'll have to follow up by email

A reminder to yall that Donald Trump was convicted of 34 felony counts of hush money payments in 2024. His defense attorney? Todd Blanche.

Kyle Griffin@kylegriffin1.bsky.social

FLAG: Trump just said he will "push hard" to resurrect his slush fund.
"It will immediately be back on the table, and I will get it done." He said he'll keep Todd Blanche as acting attorney general if his nomination fails in the Senate.

Interesting exchange between Katie Miller and journalist @samsteindc.bsky.social on the other platform. After Stein's last query (on the third screenshot), Miller stops engaging, probably realizing that Stein is going in for the kill.

inquirer.comWilliam Way center’s proposed demolition would erase an important Philly landmarkWhat’s the Gayborhood without the William Way LGBT Community Center’s historic home?

26 July

This hits close to home. I lived in Philly 1982-2006. I knew William Way, the Center's namesake. I was there at the Center's opening. I even remember the building's firmer life as the Engineer's Club. The building was never perfect, but its legacy is unmistakable.

Inga Saffron@ingasaffron.bsky.social

What would Philly’s Gayborhood be without William Way? The decision to demolish the center was made abruptly without consulting those who consider it their beloved third place and would destroy an LGBTQ landmark. My column looks at what’s at stake for Philadelphia. www.inquirer.com/real-estate/...

For tonight's #raveyardshift I'll be giving a taste of what I'm planning to play next month at an outdoor party in Stone Ridge, NY. I'll be exploring two themes: "raves of olde" and "hard for david." Tonight I focus on some of the "hard for david" tracks I've collected for this special occasion.
