Glow Bat Alternative Fashion (Official)🦇💀

Today's convention downtime sketch is Swamp Thing! I drew him from memory, but I was going for a slightly skull-like face mixed with earthen features like root-style veins. #illustration #sketchbook

All set up and ready to go at the Des Moines Comic and Toy Show at Merle Hay Mall in Urbandale, IA! I'm here until 8pm today and noon to 5 tomorrow, so stop on by!

This weekend I'll be at the Des Moines Comic and Toy Show at Merle Hay Mall in Urbandale! I'll have all your fave designs, plus the return of the garage sale section (which has been a freshly stocked)! It's my ONLY central Iowa show this year, so stop on by so you don't have to wait until 2027!

Here's what I'm sketching during down moments at the convention tonight. I've been enamored with Eraserhead lately, and that baby is so dang cute! I just had to draw it. Yes, I also MUST draw Henry. He's next... #illustration #sketch

All set up and ready to go at Halloweenapalooza in Ottumwa, IA! Doors open shortly and we're here until 11 tonight and 12-8pm tomorrow, so head on down!

#NowWatching George A. Romero's Day of the Dead. #filmsky #horrorsky

This Friday and Saturday I'll be at Halloweenapalooza! It's always a blast with lots of cool celebs, vendors, and activities, so head on out to Ottumwa and say hello!

#NowWatching David Lynch's Eraserhead #filmsky #moviesky

New artwork drop! The last of the three promised "remasters," the upgraded Crow shirt features an original illustration (by yours truly, as always) of Eric standing high above the city, embracing the rainy sky. Available in shirt and prints here: www.glowbatstore.com #illustration #horrorart

Daily sketch. I don't share many of these, as most are studies in various parts/poses, but this one was fun because I've never drawn Godzilla before. It's kind of an amalgam of different eras, but still neat! #illustration #handdrawn #artsky

I finally upgraded to a mechanical pencil set after using the same traditional pencils for over 20 years (literally the same two pencils for those years). So of course I had to try them out with a Jimothy sketch. Verdict: I love these mechanical pencils! #illustration #sketch

⚠️New item alert! ⚠️ I actually sneakily had this available at my last show, but the cat is out of the bag! At long last, I present the "Lake Vibes" bookmark! These will be available at shows and as always, they're designed and printed by yours truly. 😉 #horrormerch

#NowWatching Halloween: Resurrection Seriously, when did Michael decide hanging from the ceiling would be his thing? Did he actively train so he could do that move? If so, did he do so while wearing the mask? #horrorfilm #horrorsky #filmsky

Ok, I don't like drawing architecture. Sorry, but it had to be said.

#NowWatching Halloween H20 You're lured in by the return of Jamie Lee Curtis, but you're enraptured by Josh Hartnett's haircut. #horrorsky #horrormovie #filmsky

I had these ready to post a few weeks ago, but I wanted to wait to share them out of respect for the great Tim Curry's passing. New for the fall, I present the Dr. Frank-N-Furter pins, keychains, and stickers! These will be available at shows starting THIS SATURDAY! #horrorart #horror #rockyhorror

THIS SATURDAY! Glow Bat will be at the River City Oddities and Antiques Expo in Mason City, IA. It's the first show of the fall, so I'll have a bunch of NEW items on hand!

Some more new items coming your way: Check out the Gill Man stickers! They'll be available at shows starting this weekend. #horror #horrorart #illustration #creaturefromtheblacklagoon

New item alert! I wanted a fun, colorful Jason pin/keychain, so I present the Lake Vibes 2 glow-in-the-dark design! Everyone loves the NES Jason, now you can bring him wherever you go! These will be available at shows starting NEXT WEEK! #horror #jasonvorhees #horrormerch #horrorsky

(So far) I've drawn Tim Curry twice: as Pennywise and Frank-N-Furter. He's always so fun to draw because his charismatic expressions can really bring the art to life.

Dolly's passing stung yesterday, now Tim's passing is a real gut punch for me today. Anyone who knows me knows how big a fan I am of his, so this one really hurts. Rest in peace, Doc, you're going home. www.tmz.com/2026/08/26/t...

#NowWatching Halloween 6: The Curse of Michael Myers It's the end of the Jaimie trilogy and the beginning of Paul Rudd's career in motion pictures! #filmsky #horror #horrorsky

#NowWatching Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers Michael has been VERY tolerant up until now, but no more! Now he wants... Revenge! #filmsky #horrorsky #horror #Halloween #MichaelMyers

#NowWatching Phantasm II After re-watching and loving the first one, it's time to see if the magic continues in the sequel (that was released a whole decade after the first film)! #FilmSky #HorrorSky #Horror #NowPlaying

New design drop! 🚨🚨🚨 One of at least three design "remasters" I'm planning for the fall refresh, this one is an original illustration inspired by the ever-iconic Halloween series! Get yours in shirt and print form here: www.glowbatstore.com #illustration #originalart #HorrorArt #HorrorSky

Yeah, much better than I remember it, especially since I had apparently missed a bit at the end that makes a lot if it quite brilliant.

#NowWatching Phantasm I've only seen this film once before and I didn't care for it then. However, I don't think I was in the right headspace to appreciate it. Time for another go! #FilmSky #HorrorSky #NowPlaying

The ADR in this film is horrendous and you can tell they changed lines in post, but honestly I believe it adds to the charm! #FilmSky

#NowWatching Jesus Christ Vampire Hunter Yes, I paid $50 to import this new remaster (all-region!) and also yes, I feel it was money well spent... I love this stupid movie. 🖤😌 #FilmSky #HorrorSky #Horror #IndieFilm

The remakes are... Not good. I understand updating it for modern audiences, but they changed too much to the detriment of the characters and story, as well as over-relied on cheesy jump scares. The original, while at times hokey, is a MUCH better film adaptation of the story. #FilmSky #HorrorSky

#NowWatching It Chapter 2 This one I've seen a bit more recently than chapter 1, and I remember it not being very good. I guess we'll see how my memory of it holds up! #FilmSky #HorrorSky #Horror

I'm still mulling it over, but while I understand it's a modern take on the story, some changes, like taking away the Derry lore stuff from Mike and making Beverly a damsel in distress at the end doesn't sit right.

#NowWatching It (2017) The 1990 version I just watched is a pretty decent abridged/summary version of the book. Now to see how the 2017 version stacks up after not having seen it since it came out. #filmsky #horrorsky #horror

#NowWatching It (1990) I just finished the book and am now re-watching all the Its (except Welcome to Derry, because I recently watched that). My wife refuses to watch them with me because she knows I'll be insufferable with the book comparisons. #filmsky #horrorsky #horror

Shout out to these fine folks who nabbed an original Glow Bat Hocus Pocus print and had it autographed by Doug Jones, Vinessa Shaw, and Omri Katz! #autograph #comiccon #originalart

All set up and ready to go at The O Con in Council Bluffs, IA! Doors to the vendor floor open at 1pm. It's gonna be a hot one this weekend, so why not stop on by and enjoy the AC and all the cool creators?

This weekend! July 17-19 I'll be in artist alley at The O Con in Council Bluffs, IA! I'll have all the faves on hand, as well as the new Hocus Pocus inspired art print. Also, it'll be your LAST chance to grab some of the designs before my fall refresh, so don't miss out!

#NowWatching John Carpenter's In the Mouth of Madness... Because what better way to celebrate the legend that was Sam Neill? 😭 #filmsky #horrorsky

So NEXT WEEKEND I'll be tabling at The O Con in Council Bluffs, IA, and they're having a Hocus Pocus reunion with Doug Jones, Vinessa Shaw, and Omri Katz. To celebrate, I'll have this NEW original print on hand that's perfect for autographs! #comiccon #hocuspocus

#NowWatching The Abominable Dr. Phibes. Classic Vincent Price... And with adorable murder bats to boot! #filmsky #horrorsky

Ooooh, it's the son of the Imp. Star Wars should have just done that. Would have been 100x better.

#NowWatching Sorority Babes in the Slimeball Bowl-o-Rama 2 Somehow, the Imp returned... #filmsky #horrorsky

It is better than the first one, but it loses points for writing out Bruce Campbell's character 15 minutes in... But it gets some points back for having a funky theme song.

#nowwatching Maniac Cop 2 How does it stack up to the first one? (Which is pretty good.)... Dunno. Guess we'll find out! #filmsky #horrorsky

All set up and ready to go for three days of horror at QC Fright Con! I have a new setup that I'm really happy with. It looks amazing!

#nowwatching Candyman Now this movie makes me sad, because Tony Todd was an amazing actor. 😥 #filmsky #horrorsky #horror
