Meanwhile in Alaska, Murkowski soft endorses Peltola.

Sen. Lisa Murkowski is one of just a few Republicans to vote with Democrats on measures to check the Trump administration’s war in Iran, something she highlighted when discussing rising fuel costs.

Meanwhile in Alaska…wait, coal, really?

A company planning a new coal project in Mat-Su has leased more than 800 acres of University of Alaska land near Port MacKenzie to build a large-scale industrial park and energy facilities. via @matsusentinel.bsky.social

Feel that refreshing breeze of governing. !

Just in time for tennis season to peak in New York City, 10 public tennis courts in Crotona Park — the only courts in the Bronx with lights for nighttime playing — are now fully renovated.

Meanwhile in Alaska, huh, billionaires are interested in Alaska’s elections. @democrats.org

The question of whether Alaska will keep its novel voting system will again be placed on the November ballot, drawing massive spending from Outside billionaires seeking to influence the initiative's outcome, according to filings submitted to the state. www.adn.com/politics/202...

This email from Social Security is highly political making claims such as “historic legislation” “immediate relief” describing the service as “world class”.

Unsubscribing is not an option as who knows what you will or won’t get from SSA and some emails from SSA are important obviously. This email is sent by a third party Granicus Communications so this political announcement is paid for by us and our email shared to a third party.

Yes sir.

Ossoff: "Citizens United was the most destructive court decision in modern history. It's unleashed a flood of secret money, corporate money, billionaire money. Trump's rise is a symptom of this deeper disease. Our task is not just to contain his wickedness, but to cure the rot that gave rise to it."

Replying to @profgalloway.com

Capitalism works best when it doesn’t have power over the state. When the state is a democracy, this usually means it works best for the society. In the USA, lawmakers made the error of allowing capitalism to masquerade as a voter, with more power. The result: capitalism has overpowered the state.

Can we ask Nvidia to invest in making their products consume less resources? A clear way to delineate themselves, and to delay their inevitable de-evolution. #datacenters

Meanwhile in Alaska, this feels desperate. #datacenter

Boosters say a data center proposed for Alaska's North Slope could take advantage of abundant land, low temperatures and a huge natural gas supply. The $500M project could consume twice as much natural gas as urban Alaska’s grid. (via Northern Journal) www.adn.com/business-eco...

All of this article. “…everything you (Trump) could do to fix working people's cost of living will make an oligarch worse off.”

Tech I love being in this space. The non-commercialization / pro-user rights movement is essential in maintaining balance, now, and as it always has. In the same way folks have to form around a group/party that mostly does the right thing, we have to advocate for doing that thing right.

Great read. +1 for speaking plainly. “Every so often someone expresses their understandable frustration with the party of governance by threatening to withhold their vote… But this is foolish at best, and it rests on a misunderstanding of what it even means to act as a party in politics.”

Liberal Currents@liberalcurrents.com

"Give human beings instant communication and rapid transportation over vast distances, along with production processes with high capital costs—including the production of weapons and military materiel—and you will inevitably get people organizing the use of force on a large scale."

Bingo.

David Roberts@volts.wtf

All of this was very foreseeable but lots of people spent the election prosecuting their precious factional disputes rather than rallying to prevent a fascist from taking office and so here we are.

Breaking News: New video adds to evidence that a U.S. missile likely hit an Iranian school where 175 people, many of them children, were reportedly killed.

Bingo!

David Roberts@volts.wtf

If the right dominates the infosphere, if they can demonize any marginalized population they turn their eye on, then strategizing around *a current snapshot of public opinion* is almost definitionally misguided. They can change that opinion. Dems can't seem to, or won't try. All else is noise.

I think it should probably be a bigger story that the president of the United States is a raving lunatic

Trump at the National Prayer Breakfast: "We hit 'em. And we want to hit 'em right, sir, and we want to hit them from the top! East, west, north, south. Sir, they won't know what the hell! And we'll knock them out. We did it politically correct. Five years."
