apparently some people are spreading rumors that we didn't get featuring because we picked terrible dates & it's my fault—this is false. we were declined for front page featuring months ago when I pitched the festival to Steam because of our ratio—Steam wants a majority of well-selling games. ⤵️

the 2nd annual Fall in Love Visual Novel Festival will be held on Tuesday, with a big caveat - at the last minute, we've had basic featuring taken away from us, namely the store page banners that appear on the top of the store page for games in a festival that lets people know there's a festival.

I remember people getting a little disturbed with the second draft at a certain part (some of y'all may guess) and the original story (a decade ago) was like... maybe 5x worse lol

Honestly with DD I've thought about going back to the original roots of the story... which was quite a bit darker. I think that's where I struggle is cause my OCs always had things way worse than I write about (except, Shin actually had a really good childhood and loving parents and like 5 siblings)

finishing the full 80k rough and then getting 56k into the second rough after the original 20k I scrapped and how different things got made me realize I need to write more novels before I'm ready to tackle DD in the way I feel it deserves

AI is a scourge. But it is important not to trust "AI detectors". I lost regular freelancing work because my client insisted I used AI to write copy (I didn't, but their AI detecting software said I did). This is a great thread with an excellent example of why these detectors cannot be trusted.
