1/ 🚀 Solving #NASA ’s cloud data dilemma: Icechunk unlocks 100x faster access to archival data formats We're thrilled to publish results from our pilot project with NASA and @developmentseed.org to enable high-performance cloud-native access for NASA’s 100s of petabytes of Earth observation data.

Went to Misinfocon yesterday. Haven't been to an event like this in Bangalore for so long! Learnt so much about what people are building to mitigate and educate around cyber scams, deep fakes and general lack of trust.

This is so delightful!

We launched a fun, educational project on cloud-native data formats. Our zine, 𝗢𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗶𝘇𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗚𝗲𝗼𝘀𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗹𝗼𝘂𝗱, follows C.O.R.A and Vector, as they help scientists around the world tackle challenges with the aid of cloud data formats such as COG, Zarr, and Geoparquet. ds.io/cloud-native-zine

Merry Christmas! 🎄 I spent Christmas eve getting a health checkup after several reminders this year followed by a really good meal. More really good meals in future today!

It is *so* satisfying to see @2i2c.org enabling so many communities sharing work at AGU. It feels good to be a supporting member of many projects rather than a "first author".

Earth and space scientists, are you at AGU this week? Several of our community partners in the earth and space sciences are sharing their work, and we're proud to see 2i2c's infrastructure in action. Check them out this week: 2i2c.org/blog/2024/agu/ agu.org/annual-meeting

Last week we had a chance to see some of the new galleries at Museo Egizio in Turin with their assistant director. Safe to say museums are ruined for me because it was such an amazing experience. I can't imagine going to another museum without being guided by the person who put it together!
