First day in Corfu almost over. We didn’t do too much, just got our bearings as we came in late last night. Pool was freezing, but I got some reading done and my resting heart rate was recorded at 74bpm, which is supposed to be normal but it’s lowest I’ve seen it… credit to the ocean and Greece. 🇬🇷 ❤️

Gutted that the Mass Effect games didn’t make it to the Switch. I’d have them downloaded in a heartbeat for our trip. 💔

I’m not even excited for GTA VI anymore. I had the week booked off to play it before the last delay and I didn’t bother rebooking when Rockstar announced it was digital only. I’ll probably get it, but I’m not feeling it. It’s not the same.

Being a gamer hasn’t been fun for a while. Between boycotts and layoffs, the future being a dismal digital only era dictated by AI and at such expense to my mental health and wallet… I feel hopeless that my favourite hobby just doesn’t do it for me in the ways it used to.

Scalpers can seriously get fucked. I’m seeing it all on eBay for sale £100-£180. Some douchebag had ten and has sold seven for £120. I just got the Amazon exclusive one. I’m so sad about it. There needs to be better protections in place against assholes like that. Amazon failed us this week.

I just did the Ashtray Maze in Control and that was awesome! Very fun!

Just watched Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die. It had moments that dragged on and I ended up looking at my phone (ironic, really), but it was good. Worth checking out.

I’m not saying it was terrible, but it was flat and the story was very messy. It’s rare that Dave falls asleep before me when we put a movie on.

Watching The Fog tonight. Despite loving horror movies and spending every weekend in our local rental shop, I never watched this one before. Apparently it’s shit and the original is better. 🤷‍♀️

Amazon delivered to my neighbour anyway. They knew. 🙃

I booked the last two days off because my mental health has been on a decline and I thought this would help. I’m back at work tomorrow and honestly, it hasn’t helped. I feel like I need a month.

Anyway, hair washed and waiting on dinner. Decided I need to play Control. Another game I bought at launch, didn’t play and then it was free on PS+ a while ago. 🙄 I’m on leave the next two days, so I hope I can beat it!

I spent most of the day doing a deep clean on the kitchen. It’s never “that bad” until you actually start lol. To put the spices and seasonings away I had to reorganise the spice cupboard for example. Oldest thing I found was best before Aug 2016. Wild, bc I’ve definitely deep cleaned since then!

How does that GTA VI CE justify the price and still not include the game?! £349.99 for a pair of glasses, cap and a fanny pack. £100-120, MAYBE. But £350? Wtf. CE prices are getting out of hand.

I still can’t believe that we saved Destiny 2. It’s not over, but there’s solid hope. Us Guardians really went out there and made our own fate. We made our voices heard. 💪🏻

I started rewatching the Final Destination movies and we just finished 3. Dave said he hadn’t watched it before, which is wild to me. I must be a psychopath because I told him it has one of the best deaths in all the movies and this was my literal face during the tanning bed scene:

I wasn’t feeling right this week, so I made a GP appointment and it seems I now have a secondary chest infection. The Covid created bacteria which got into my lungs. Amazing. 🥲 I have antibiotics and been told to get plenty of bed rest. Had to cancel my plans again. ☹️

I don’t know why the Fire Emblem CE is so much more expensive coming from Nintendo (£13) than from Amazon. 🥴

I got Onimusha, Dawnwalker and Mortal Shell 2 sitting there and me and Dave decided to move on to Watch Dogs 2 as we finished the first game last week. …we don’t like it as much because the controls are different, but we’ll get used to it!

I finally feel over the Covid. It’s the first time I’ve had it like this. I felt like I’d been hit by a truck earlier this week, with the body aches, fever and nausea. I’m getting some lightheadedness when doing normal things though - like doing dishes or laundry. I hope that passes soon.

I managed to beat two games so far this weekend: Aphelion and Spider-Man 2. Aphelion was pretty good. I felt the pacing was a little off at times, but it wasn’t bad. Now running NG+ on Spider-Man for that 100% clear. I also stopped playing it New Year’s Day 2024, so I get to refresh my memory. 🤣

Hideo Kojima has left Sony for Xbox. Everyone is freaking out over Wolverine’s Metacritic score. The bad Sony PR continues…

First time having Covid that everything tastes off. Just had some rice that tastes like it was cooked in stagnant water. The chicken didn’t taste of anything. The onions tasted very sweet, but not bad. Then I brushed my teeth and toothpaste tastes awful - I can feel the mint, but it tastes gross. 😭
