If you haven’t updated your iPhone/ipad to iOS 26.2.x, you are in danger from active “zero click” exploits that have been observed in the wild. These exploits get triggered just by *visiting* an infected website. Update now 😬

Instagram is now mapping your location. They have introduced “Instagram Map” which by default will map your location. If you don’t have a problem with one more social media company collecting data that can be stolen in a breach, then you can ignore this post. (Continued in comments)

If you have concerns, there is a setting on your phone that controls whether an app has access to your location. You should probably take some time and ponder which apps even *need* that for what you use the app to do.

If they don’t, turn OFF location services for the app. There should also be a setting for those apps you need location services turned on, to “not give the app your EXACT location” that is appropriate for some apps. 🤪

If you have a Brother printer of any type that is connected to WiFi or Ethernet, there is probably a firmware update you need to apply. Also, change the default password.

If anyone has a problem with pet hair on their furniture , I highly recommend the Chom-Chom roller! They also make a smaller one for lint/fur on clothes.

Prusa is now on BlueSky.

been reading a lot of comments today about how people find man pages hard to read and it made me mad (why do they have to be so hard!) so I'm giving away 300 copies of Bite Size Command Line to folks for whom $12 is a lot of money! (with code BUYONEGIVEONE) wizardzines.com/zines/bite-s...

If you haven’t updated the firmware on your home wifi router recently (you should do it regularly), do it now. If there hasn’t been an update in the past 6 months, it is probably time for you to buy a newer model. (Continued)

These updates not only help protect you and your computers and data, as well as your online transactions, they also help keep malicious actors from taking control of your router and/or computers and using them to attack other people/companies on the internet.

Additionally, this advice also applies to your computers. Check for updates today, and apply them. If there have been no updates in months, or years, you are at risk.
