Pressing this button closes out a chapter here at Microsoft. MGT was the first product I worked on as an FTE. mgt.dev has been updated to remove the playground. The final versions have been published to NPM and deprecated. Thank you to everyone who contributed.

I still get a kick out of loading up this page and seeing cool stuff my team and I built in my life before becoming an FTE at Microsoft

I love secondhand books and always check out that section in a thrift store. So today I got to appreciate the utterly unhinged method of display that is sorting by the color of the cover

Who had the bright idea that a Python should not follow SemVer and allow for minor version increments to be incompatible with prior versions? Of all the choices, that was certainly one....

Spotify didn't pay artists enough even before stooping to outright theft. Happy I left that platform in 2013.

In April 2024, Spotify implemented a new scheme: songs with less than 1k streams per year would no longer receive royalties. The data for 2025 was just released via Luminate, and 88% of songs have been demonetized. Read it again: 88% of songs on Spotify have been demonetized.

Yikes!

BREAKING: A catastrophic breach has impacted Discord user data including selfies and identity documents uploaded as part of the app’s verification process, email addresses, phone numbers, approximately where the user lives, and much more. 🔗 www.404media.co/the-discord-...

Yeah, my wife and I met as a consequence of spending time on a hyper specific phpBB site well before FB was a thing. Plus, a great many friends from Twitter, before the enshitification.

Has anything great happened in your life because of social media?

the Colorado school shooter from the same day that Charlie Kirk was killed posted himself holding his gun on Twitter / X where he followed multiple far right accounts weird how you wouldn't call on Elon Musk too to testify at an online radicalization hearing

"we rarely acknowledge the invisible labor of thinking, integrating, and recalibrating, because it doesn’t fit neatly into a status update." Wow, that line resonated with me.

I fucking adore it when a developer has fixed a bug. 😍 And left zero tests to validated it or ensure that someone else doesn't break it again in the future 🤬

wow, just wow....

xAI has disabled Grok, deleted a slew of its antisemitic and neo-Nazi posts, posted a statement, and are evidently rolling back the prompt that made it identify as "MechaHitler," but this new low for Elon Musk's chatbot will live in internet infamy:

A fine demonstration of the Streisand effect

ICEblock, which allows users to alert others to the geographical location of ICE officers, is the top social networking app in the App Store right now after Karoline Leavitt condemned it from the podium yesterday.

My new favourite thing to do in GitHub Copilot... Use Ask mode and send my prompt, let Copilot figure out what it needs to do, then switch to Agent mode and...

In the past few weeks I’ve experienced the same as Gavin. Agent mode, Claude Sonnet 4 and MCP servers have been game changers. GH Copilot wrote a whole new feature for Dev Proxy Toolkit straight from our Dev Proxy docs exposed as MCP server, it worked perfectly.

The productivity gains from GitHub Copilot are off the charts. Now, it's not to be blindly trusted, but if you aren't using it as a time saver and flow-state question answerer then you're missing out.

How do I do task X? Old way: switch from editor to browser, compose a query, don't forget to include a bunch of context like language and execution environment, search, parse results and find a code snippet to try. New way: Ctrl+i, ask the question, take the resulting code and adjust to suit.

This is how you win, by putting the right tool at the finger tips of users right where they are working. If I have to switch windows, then there's a very real danger that my ADD brain will get side-tracked.

So, I didn't hear about this latest piece of insanity from the broligarch in chief until just now. What in the ever-loving fuck is he thinking? Just edit out all the stuff he doesn't like with some AI BS? How can that be trusted and correct? Oh, that's right it can't be and will be wrong.

It’s not illegal for a United States Senator to go to a public press conference and ask questions about your constituents safety. It's our job.

For folks living in the United States, participating in this sort of thing is a federal crime and will land you on the radar of the US Office of Foreign Assets Control If you don't go broke defending yourself from the federal indictment first, you'll likely go broke while you're in federal prison

Wow. I'll admit that I didn't think that they would be this blatant in their disregard of the law.

Rep. Jennifer McClellan@mcclellan.house.gov

The Trump Administration just accepted a gifted luxury jet from Qatar. This violates the Emoluments Clause banning government officials from accepting gifts or money from foreign countries without consent of Congress. This is not only blatant corruption, but raises national security concerns.
