To add insult to injury, Donal Trump has now posted an AI slop version of the tragic UK tiger attack in which he is playing with the tiger. What the fuck is wrong with him and what the fuck is wrong with anyone who supports/enables him?

Trying out @vikunja.io for task management. Bonus that it's made and hosted in the EU (no reliance an US tech firms), and also offers self hosting if I want to reduce my reliance on cloud further. (Although still struggling to figure out what vikunja means - somekind of llama like beast?!)

I bought this burgundy Nintendo DSi XL about 15 years ago. Still one of my favourite devices. The colour, the feel of the controls, the screens, the shape - everything about it makes it a joy to play!

@mrjamesob.bsky.social I hope in another half century my kids don't look back on today's conversations with the same sense of sadness.

Hard to believe that these words were written the year before I was born. Yet here we are, nearly half a century later, raising our kids in a world where these words are more true and relevant than ever before. How disappointing to imagine the world that could have been.

Tried out Freely (www.freely.co.uk) today. Overall a bit disappointed. * All the ITV channels require an account. * All channels are lower fps than their Freeview broadcast. * Ability to pause, but not record/fast forward after pause. * "Radio" is nothing more than a prompt to launch Sounds app.

freely.co.ukFreely | All your favourite TV shows, all in one place and all for freeFree to air digital terrestrial television service. Includes reception information, channel lineup and FAQ.

* Page after page of T&Cs and privacy notices. This doesn't feel consumer friendly at all. Required accounts, privacy nightmare, inability to skip ads all massively favour corporations and the ever increasing surveillance capitalism. So much for the future of FTA TV.

Welcome to Rip-Off Britain. One in five children is growing up in poverty, public services are crumbling - and the 10 richest families and individuals have grown £11bn richer in just one year. Enough is enough. Tax wealth, not work.

UK gilt yields have hit an 18-year high because bond markets fear Labour might elect a slightly more left-wing leader. When financial markets seek to constrain democratic choice, that is not economic discipline. It is political power, exercised without a ballot. www.cnbc.com/2026/05/13/g...

Can I just ask, #r4today, as you seem to be very keen to talk about and investigate Polanski’s council tax issue, why not the same feverish scrutiny over the far more troubling and glaringly corrupt £5M bribe Farage took from that crypto billionaire, Harborne? We can hear your strings being pulled.

Palantir has been granted “unlimited access” to NHS patient data. This is the same company that is involved in mass surveillance and genocide. We did not consent to this. Get Palantir out of our NHS, now.

TikTok can still build a profile of users and use this profile to exploit them and the wider userbase, even if they don't show them ads. The question that should be asked about this news is, is it surveillance free or just ad free? Because the distinction is huge. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

The solution to gerrymandering is proportional representation. Pass it on!

Adam Gurri@adamgurri.liberalcurrents.com

The solution to gerrymandering has been known for nearly two hundred years at this point. When we take back power we should do a new VRA that requires proportional representation (after we deal with the Court, of course, to ensure the law sticks) youtu.be/T7_LmqR0a04?...

This is what tariffs were always all about for Trump. Not about revenue, trade, domestic manufacturing, GDP - it’s about giving himself the unilateral power to decide economic winners and losers on a case by case basis, with kings and CEOs coming to him asking forbearance..

A crypto investor just donated £9 million to the Reform Party. Right now, billionaires can pour unlimited money into our elections, effectively buying our democracy. Think that's wrong? Add your name to call for a cap on donations today: you.38degrees.org.uk/petitions/ta...

May I politely point out that today is an exceptional day for solar power generation in the United Kingdom. It’s not always like this, I’m very aware of that, but when it is this sunny all day, it means we have to pay for less imported gas. It’s not that hard to understand.

Because of concerns about the safety of using US Tech, France is getting rid of Windows from its Government computers. It's time, get all US Big Tech, Microsoft, Google, Palantir... out of Europe. It is a security threat.

It's no longer OK for you to sit in the house of Lords because your dad did. But if your mate put you there? That's fine. Neither of these really feel like democracy to me.
