🍂 Do ginkgo trees really drop all their leaves in a single day? It’s a popular myth you may have heard before. While ginkgo trees can sometimes lose most of their leaves in a short period, especially in climates with harsh fall storms, that isn’t always the case.

Here in San Francisco, ginkgo season is a little more gradual. Their beautiful, fan-shaped leaves turn a golden yellow, creating a stunning autumn display as they fall over time. And with those falling leaves comes plenty of sweeping and cleanup that can last for weeks! 🍁

Discover this remarkable carnivorous plant bloom in the Potted Plants Gallery! Heliamphoras, sometimes called sun pitchers, are adapted to extreme ecosystems in the tepui rock formation of northern South America. Come see this fascinating bloom for yourself at the Conservatory!

Look closely to find... 🥄That slippery little helmet at the top is a "nectar spoon" to lure small insects to it 💧"Drainage slits" help regulate water levels and prevent the tubes from overflowing in sudden downpours. 🐜 Pitchers that capture insects. 🌟The star-shaped blossoms attract bees
