With 2025 in the books, that's another year of gaming write ups completed on my blog. To celebrate I've highlighted some of my favourite write ups below of the ones I'm most proud from 2025 🧵

Devastated that I think I lost my Castlevania: Belmont's Curse save, something messed up with my Steam Cloud sync. I was 15 hours in and was really loving it too! That totally killed the mood to replay it now, so I might not revisit it for a while...

The only other Fire Emblem I’ve played prior to Fortune's Weave is Awakening and my god is playing this game making me to want to play Awakening again. It’s probably rose tinted nostalgia but I’d totally kill for a Fire Emblem Reawakening remake right now

Jacob Geller is no longer a part of MinnMax. He won't be on content moving forward and we won't be publicly airing this week's episode of The MinnMax Show. We're in shock and deeply hurt. Thank you for your patience during this sensitive time.

My biggest problem with this is that a certain section of the audience believes a good review is one that conforms to the general consensus. Somewhere along the line people really lost the idea that not only can they have a different opinion on a piece of media, but differing opinions are exciting.

Call me old fashioned, but maybe the point of reviews and critics isn’t just which ones line up with the majority

I’m not the most interested in GTA VI but I’ll admit it’s pretty cool watching all the money and manpower in the world put into one single video game to see what you get. It’s possible that no game will ever be made on this scale again.

I've been thinking about picking up the new Fire Emblem next month ever since those very positive previews dropped, but looking at the price for a new physical edition is $109 CAD plus tax! So expensive!! Maybe I'll wait a little longer for someone to sell it slightly cheaper on marketplace...

Wow, I just finished Mixtape and the game's final moment has to be one of the most powerful singular moments I've ever had while playing a video game. Simply beautiful

I had a nice little interaction today when I sold my copy of Spider-Man 2 to a father and son I met on FB marketplace. The kid came dressed as Spider-Man and excitedly asked me “Is the one with Sandman in it?!” and I told him that the game *opens* with Sandman 🧵(1/4)

Not only was I glad to know there’s still kids out there excited to play premium games rather than the Roblox/Fortnite/Minecraft variety, but I was happy to even have the opportunity to get this brief connection because of physical disc media existing 🧵(3/4)

The end of physical media will result in a lot of obvious and awful losses but there will be many intangible aspects around this hobby that we’ll lose too. And its these smaller things that really shape how great the world of video games can be beyond just the games themselves 🧵end

The kid flipped out once he learned this and had the biggest smile on his face as he left holding the game. This small interaction really made my day, and it’s these short conversations I often get to have with random strangers since I regularly buy and sell games on FB marketplace 🧵(2/4)

Just found my old collection of gaming magazines and strategy guides at my parents house! I’ve been thinking about searching for these for a while now and so glad my parents kept them for me

I also found my old PS2 still boxed up! Gonna see what I need to hook it up to my TV and get it working again. I’ve had fun emulating retro games on my Steam Deck recently but would love to get into some native PS2 gaming now that I have this again

I will never get tired of cleansing the blight from a corrupted land. It’s like fantasy-setting power wash simulator.

Just fell to my knees in Yharnam at 30 fps

NEW: Last year, Bluepoint Games pitched a Bloodborne remake. Sony didn't turn it down... but FromSoftware did. Inside the tragic closure of Bluepoint, what they've been doing for the last five years, and why the studio was shut down: www.bloomberg.com/news/newslet...

Yesterday I turned 32 which means I get one more year until I’m gommage’d out of existence

Very fitting that I received this on my birthday where my question of the week won for being the best birthday games question haha

My initial impression of Highguard from last night was that it’s basically Apex Legends with a mess of added ideas and aesthetics. It’s sorta fun if you squint and it definitely removes the lows of the BR genre but also the highs as well. And that’s with having all my rounds going down to the wire

Also here’s a clip of me being a bad person. Little did he know, that pile of bodies he was crawling on was my doing from earlier.
