Whilst I'm not entirely living in the future my childhood self dreamed of... I do own a laser that is powerful enough to cut things so that's a win. A replicator too I guess if you only replicate things with extruded plastic. Oh yeah, a handheld communication device that does science too...

Transphobic lesbians and transphobic straight men both out there viewing transfem folks as sexual objects they resent the idea of being attracted too rather than actual human beings.

Cis people really aren't ready to talk about how being trans has directly led to employment discrimination, even back when we had better protection under the equality act. It's always 'why didn't you x/y', 'I don't believe that's what really happened' and 'how were you dressed at the time?'

"A distinctively British approach to artificial intelligence"

Just seen a comment saying Hazbin Hotel made the romance between Lucifer's Daughter and a Fallen Angel boring. I may not recover from seeing such a perfect summary of how a TV show failed.

For TDoR should we be lighting a candle for Bioware as a whole or one for each game?

Keep up the bad press on meta glasses people, I want to be able to grab a cheap pair on eBay for recording videos on cosplay crafting.

Learners like shit vehicles like planes, rockets and tanks. I want to teach about trains.

*testing out a demonstration in the lab* Learner 1: 'It's on fire!' Me: 'It's meant to be on fire.' Learner 2: 'But everything is on fire ' Me: 'Eh, it'll burn out.' Learner 1: 'How long will that take?' Me: *shrug* 'Dunno.' Learner 2: 'We need to get the fire extinguisher!' Me: 'It's just a fire!'

So, standing in the middle of a field and ready to fly was a terrible time for my drone to demand a 700mb software update.

Scenery: Chewed Death: Dramatic Vibes: Immaculate Drip: Transcendent

When you finally get a chance to play the big bad guy after a ten year wait... And the players are ordered to take her out stealthily. Will I get my chance to grandstand, monologue and leave no scenery unchewed? Will they just nuke the place from orbit? Either way my costume looks awesomazing.

'It's not pleasant but you can still live day to day.' *Rights are eroded further* 'It's not pleasant but you can still live day to day.' *Rights are eroded further* 'It's not pleasant but you can still live day to day.' *Rights are eroded further* 'It's not pleasant but you can still li...'

Did not want to go to school today. Unfortunately I'm a department head so my parents wouldn't call me in sick.

*points wildly at the table* 'The thing! Need to get the thing! Thing! Y'know, the thing!!!!' *Throws arms into the air in resignation* 'Scoopy metal thing for soup, bowl on the end... SPOON!'

Yeah, so, I put off replacing this for faaarrrr to long. If you are wondering how this is even possible... Larp kit and cosplay. Plus a refusal to recognise the physical limitations of my equipment.

Interviewer: 'Do you mind explaining these gaps in your CV?' Teacher: 'Yes. I do mind. Next question?'

the bbc: its totally fine if one our actually fully BBC employed news presenters changes a quote from someone else to make it bigoted. also the bbc:

Yus! Winning!

My brother and I are so much better at this parenting thing than our own parents. Their kids were weird losers, our kids are awesome.

Utilitarianism is just a way to feel intellectually superior about throwing people under the bus. Or, like, trolley.

If Sadiq Khan is a trans ally, why is he allowing JK Rowling’s Harry Potter to take over the Christmas lights in Oxford Circus? Email him now and ask him to pull the plug on transphobia. goodlaw.social/e1ae3f

I knew the needle plate of my sewing machine needed replacing but why did it have to finally fail right before a tight deadline? Did my ignoring the issue in hopes of not having to spend money for months have anything to do with this unfortunate timing? We will never know.

So apparently Games Workshop don't provide seating in-store nowadays. Ok, great, thanks, how am I going to try out your new paint range then if I have to stand in pain whilst leaning over a table that's too low for me?

Me: 'You remember how I taught you for GCSE that electrons orbit in nice, clear shells?' Learner: 'Yes.' Me: 'So that was a lie...'

It's 'World Space Week' so today I had to drive home in my lab coat as my blouse got soaked in vinegar by a prematurely launching soda rocket.

Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait... There are people who do OU human fanart of Twilight Sparkle where she isn't black?

The Diesel 10 problem. When writing within well established limitations exceeds your storytelling abilities so you break with a core truth of the world. A villain isn't actually scary if he exceeds loading gauges and consequently can't go through tunnels.

Dude I just met: 'You're a teacher? I bet you can't guess what I was like at school.' Me: *proceeds to tell him exactly what he was like at school.* Dude: 'Bwuh? You can just read people like that?' Me: 'Literally my job.' Dude: *mind blown*

It's fascinating to watch the American military institute the same recruitment policies as a Quake Clan.

Galaxy Quest is just The Three Amigos but space.

I think the weirdest part of groups like 'For Women Scotland' is looking at the horrendous rates of crime and violence the cis community perpetrates. Maybe fix your own house before tearing down the trans community by claiming they are a danger?

Found them, they were next to the stove top.

Does anyone know where I put my glasses? I had them in my hand a minute ago.

I'm not saying I don't get out much but this weekend's wargaming was so intense I'm going to need a few days to recover. In other news I have strong opinions about guys who died 400 years ago after what their 28mm representations did.

Sometimes teaching is just hilarious. Me: 'We have a known concentration and volume.' Learner: 'Then an unknown?' Me: 'So we add the known.' L: 'Then what's left is the unknown?' Me: 'The volume.' L: 'We know the volume.' Me: 'Not the concentration.' L: 'We know the concentration.' Me: 'Unknown!'

Some days, teaching is emotionally devastating.

On reflection; the Halo series jumped the shark back in Halo 2 with the perfection that was tank and bridge.

Husband: 'The plumber is great. Also autistic so he will do a good job and not scam us.' Me: 'I'm not sure that... I have been scammed and cheated by autistic people loads of times.' Husband: 'Only when gaming. We aren't that kind of people.' Me: 'Do you have some form of secret handshake?'

UK Media: 'Ministers should pay attention to the concerns of Piddington and respect the significance of this vote to leave the UK.' Also UK Media: 'Anyone suggesting independence for Scotland is an enemy of the people.'

The strangest part of the trans-exclusionary lesbian discourse is trying to square it with the lesbian friends I hang out with. None of us are interested in sleeping with each other so much as who is willing to take everyone's kids for the afternoon so the rest of us can sleep at all.

Media: 'Are you psychologically ready for WAR?' Me: 'Is this something people who aren't under attack by their own government actually worry about?'

Despite my warnings, husband asked eldest child to elaborate on the complex lore of their school friends roleplayed family dynamics. I am once again listening to multiple queer marriages and rebellious offspring engaged in entirely fictional drama with no clear narrative resolution or pay off. Sigh.

Like, marginalised communities can make decisions on what ground to concede at their own expense as political compromise. Political commentators, political parties and politicians don't get to expect loyalty or thanks for doing so on behalf of those communities .

20 year old me drank heavily because society led them to believe 42 year old me couldn't exist.

Where I do my posting from...

'Ok, for starters Sailormoon is an absolute cornerstone of the genre and perfect despite the many flaws. Secondly it is not *Mom* magic girl anime you uppity brat.'

At this rate I'm expecting a call from Ed Sheeran to ask if I can dust off my guitar.
