expanding on this a bit since I was still thinking about it: in my observation Reisen gets swept up in her emotions really hard
this is frequently portrayed as anxiety and pessimism, but IMO it can also go the other way, where if things are going well for her she'll start acting smug or egotistical
I feel like her enjoying the "punishment room" (on the punishing side) makes a lot of sense for someone who otherwise likely feels like she lacks a lot of control over her life (and someone whose general emotional regulation is kinda terrible lol)
Elon's idea of merging the English and Japanese Twitter spaces while still utilizing an algorithm that rewarded ethnic conflict. Of course you get insane fights over piracy that ends with everyone calling rando Japanese people pedophiles, that's specifically how he tuned the site!
That animated series by that Bunlith person is alright, but it could be better from a writing standpoint. It needs a new character to balance out the cast... like a echidna, who's red, and he has dreadlocks. And he can glide through the air and punch stuff and protects a big green emerald
It is funny when I see people debating the difference between an "Immersive Sim" and an "RPG" when honestly it's quite simple: The answer is whatever makes me sound smartest.
I don't knows how anyone that thinks AI gen food posters are gross then goes and uses it for YouTube thumbnails.

An interesting thing about Mother 1's midpoint is that you either mostly stop relying on Ninten's PSI abilities once you pick up Ana due to her being more magically gifted, or he starts to work double-time since the latter is in an completely optional town (Snowman)
Ninten is the crux of the trio's heroism but it's interesting how his leadership can be read in two; his supportive and combative prowess being the anchor of the group, and the fact that the innate curiosity he carries bolsters Lloyd (and Ana) to be better than what their circumstances hands them
Lloyd is a nerd who is bullied for liking technology, while Ana's life is pretty insular (church girl, harbors strong PSI that no one understands, has some level of disconnect between her dad)
It's the kind of subtextual, gameplay storytelling I haven't seen in an RPG in a while
a handful of the gaming channels I watch that I would of originally said were informative and pro game dev have turned into vibe coded channels and it’s such a bummer
Extremely funny type of guy is "prison abolitionist communist who keeps getting suspended for saying 'we should just kill people like this.'" I'm not sure you believe and I don't think you do either.
I try not to be pessimistic but it's very demoralizing to realize people are this susceptible to being whipped up into a religious fervor over whatever is trendy at the time. Shipping discourse and disability rights and capitalism, its all a vehicle for validation and power over peers
