Your occasional reminder that @morelle.house.gov was one of those 58 Dems who sided with Trump, and that he's never explained or apologized for that vote.

Ex-boss filed a $12 theft charge against an ex-employee because she got a restraining order in response to his creepy behavior. Charge was never prosecuted, but it gave ICE an excuse to arrest and detain her. Congratulations to the 58 Democrats who voted for the Laken Riley Act. You own this.

I am a baseball fan. I love baseball more than just about anything. I was thrilled beyond belief to get to see the NLDS game in person on Saturday. But. Betting ads. Uniform patches. CGI ads covering up the crowd on TV. And now state political ads on the national TV feed. Fully enshittified.

Charlie is settling in nicely a week after coming home! He had a good vet report yesterday - still growing at 7 months and will likely top out around 60 pounds from his current 48. He's so well behaved, except for some puppy chewing.

I am appalled that the (public radio) newsroom where I worked for 20 years is still active on X and has no presence here.

Once again, for the politicians, business leaders, and journalists still actively posting on X/Twitter: why? You're using a platform that's owned by someone who's trying to break up your country. The juice isn't worth the squeeze.

For all the talk about him (maybe) inviting the destruction of two major West Coast cities, I would like to see more anger out there about the casual way both he and Hegseth have started using an old slur against trans people as part of their public dialogue. It's gross and needs more pushback.

I had a great time at the #ROC Fringe Fest, both as a performer and in the audience. Human creativity and connection beats AI every time. Now comes the hard part: finding new ways to keep the creativity flowing in the darkening days ahead as seasonal depression rears its ugly head...

Tonight at the Rochester Fringe Festival, I will be telling the true story (possibly for the only time in public) of why I abruptly left my job in public radio, what I regret about it, but also why I ultimately needed to do it. It's part of a great "Catharsis Time" storytelling show.

My hometown Rochester Red Wings won the International League championship tonight on the road in Memphis, for the first time since '97, but we watched on the screen at the ballpark . Here's me with my son in the seats where I sat with my late dad 29 years ago. (29 was his favorite number.)

Remember when the dictator of Turkmenistan started naming entire calendar months after himself?

EXCLUSIVE @ms.now: Trump administration officials have discussed attaching the president’s name to Ford’s Theatre, the playhouse where Abraham Lincoln was assassinated in 1865 Officials are circulating a list of government sites that could carry the president’s name www.ms.now/news/trump-f...

I have been chronicling the rebuilding of the broadcast infrastructure in NYC since the days immediately after 9/11. It has taken a long time, but there's finally stability and a good set of backups, so this is likely my last update. A deep dive... radioinsight.com/blogs/372603...

radioinsight.comRadioInsight - 9/11 Plus 25: How New York’s FMs and TVs Found New StabilityScott Fybush looks at how New York broadcasting infrastructure has regained stability a quarter-century after the 9/11 attacks.

The only voices I'm interested in hearing and amplifying on the 9/11 anniversary are those of the families and the survivors. There's nothing that any politician or pundit has to say that's going to interest me. Which won't stop the whole thing from becoming an ugly sideshow, alas.

This is illegal, like so much of what he's getting away with. It made me so sad at the big coin convention last week in Pgh to see the US Mint running a booth that was selling these, and to see a long line of dealers waiting to grab them and sell them for a profit. I still love the hobby, but...

I like that this design appears to show the birth date of liberty as 1776, and its death as 2026

There was a huge and amazing display from the "Tyrant Collection" of hundreds of Byzantine and Ottoman gold coins. So many faces of rulers who thought they'd be known forever, and today are remembered by almost nobody. Someday that will be him, too. Someday.

I haven't quite been *everywhere*, man, but I've covered a lot of ground. I have spent enough time in Indiana, especially, to almost count it as "lived," with Nevada right behind. I have never spent a night in AR or MS. Also 8 of 10 provinces, missing SK and NL.

Stayed in more places than I thought, but also feel undertraveled πŸ˜‚ My definitions – ➑️ Lived: driver license or voted there ➑️ Stayed: 3 or more nights ➑️ Visited: 0-2 nights ➑️ Passed through: airport / car only (including car rest stops) ➑️ Never been: no ground touched whereidlive.com/s/e5tn57kv

I strongly believe that if you show up at the πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦ border and the guard says, "I left my house this morning," that if you respond with "it was a little after 9" and proceed to sing all of Bobcaygeon correctly, automatic citizenship should be conferred at that point.

Sometimes if you travel the same road a lot, you find a piece of music that just perfectly matches the drive. For me, it's Van Morrison's sublime "Saint Dominic's Preview" and the lonely beauty of Route 17 through the Catskills filling me with beauty and emotion. What's yours?

Your reminder that the NY State Broadcasters Association is set to induct this man into its hall of fame this fall.

WABC radio's Sid Rosenberg calls Mayor Mamdani a terrorist and calls for removing him by any means: "We’ve got to find a way to get this guy out of here." And this is on Fox News. Very dangerous hate-filled rhetoric. Where are the condemnations from AIPAC etc! www.mediaite.com/media/news/m...
