I have a big announcement to make! I am moving away from the name 'Gatorwave'. I don't resonate with it as much as I used to & I'd like some separation between me and my work. As a result, I am partnering with my best friend Jam in order to form a new fursuit business called: MAGIC MUSTELIDS! 1/3

Something I am going to spend time delving into is the idea of fursuit theory and fursuit R&D. How can we make fursuits *better*? What mathematical concepts can we apply to making suits? How can we push the boundaries of this medium with new materials, new shapes, new styles... there's so much!

The scene has changed so much since I made my first suit in 2019. The fursuit making medium is as technical as it is artistic. I *love* when I see makers try new things that haven't been seen before, and I want to encourage that exploration throughout the community.

Hello hello, long time no see! I've got a fresh coat of paint as JTAG (my little weasel guy!) feels much more like my fursona now. I was hit with a long period of burnout but I am finally getting back on my feet. Expect more casual fursuit making posting from here on out :) (more info in thread!)

I'm pouring a lot into these next few projects and it feels amazing. Some personal suits, some commissions... and eventually some artist-designed suits (trying to avoid the term "premade"). I found my spark again and it's amazing!

I lost myself in the process of trying to make suits for other people and to clear a queue for the longest time. When I first got into making suits in 2019, I jumped in a bit too fast, and established my relationship with fursuit making as "I make fursuits for other people".

But fursuits are art. I kind of forgot that, and I forgot that I should be making art for the sake of making art. I *love* looking at unique fursuits with unique features, designs, and styles. It took me so long to realize that... I can do that too. So that's what I'm doing :)

I am in the process of shifting my relationship to fursuit making to be more artistic. I am taking my time working on suits now to put as much love and detail into each one as possible. Experimenting and challenging myself has been way more fun for me and I feel far more motivated now.

I feel like I'm finally unlocking the full potential of Nomad Sculpt by mastering all the masking features and the tube feature. The current base I'm working on will have magnetic swappable eyes and I am so proud of myself for figuring all of this out!

Here's a fun concept I did of a pooltoy plush-style fullsuit. Made out of stretch fur with sewn highlights for a fun and super toony look and feel, complete with a nozzle, handlebars, intentional seams, and lots of round shapes :) #fursuitmaker #fursuit

I haven't made a digi bodysuit since 2022 and I've never made one with this foam method. Honestly I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a very particular shape (esp for slim or sharper digi) and will likely be making a tutorial on my website about it in the future!

This is rare, but I’m considering maybe taking on 1-2 longer-term fursuit commissions due to the upcoming material price hike. I won’t be officially open for comms again in a *very long* time (at least a year from now) so this is a rare opportunity to get a custom suit from me! #fursuit

The bee sting removal procedure was a resounding success (Remy for @rempixel.art is all glued!) I also installed his hair, which features some braids! I still need to add the hair ties but I’m quite happy with how they came out 😌 #fursuit #fursuitwip #fursuitmaker

Fun fact: I had to learn how to braid in order to make his hair. Each braid is 3 strips of fur that had their backings brushed so they’re double sided fur pieces, then I braided them how you would human hair!
