My book on one of the most celebrated, and most successful, worker-run co-ops of the 19thC (the Nutclough Mill in #HebdenBridge) is about to be back in print (thank you @gritstonebooks.bsky.social). An uplifting story. I'll be talking about the story in the @foxandgoose.org in HB this Sunday, 2pm.
...this afternoon we launched Harvest Beer from @runawaybrewery.bsky.social It's made with green hops from Manchester and Hertfordshire and raw honey collected from the hillside opposite the pub. Last time we did this the bee keepers emptied the cask in 3 hours so this year we got 2 in. #BeerSky
As many of you may already be aware, there was a fire at the Fox & Goose in the early hours of Monday morning. Thankfully no-one was hurt as the pub was shut and the flat above was quickly evacuated. The fire service managed to largely restrict the fire to the understairs storage area where it began
We are working to get the pub reopened as soon as possible within the next few days, but cannot do so until it is safe for staff and customers. Special thanks to those who have worked tirelessly to clean up the pub and repair the damage over the last couple of days. Many thanks, The Fox & Goose Team
Only a small delivery from @brasscastlebeer.bsky.social this time; don't worry they all pack a punch. Andrew's sure introductions aren't necessary for Bad Kitty or Crush. This time around Crush is showcasing the classic Citra-Chinook combo, and is bound to be a big hit. #BeerSky #BskyBeer
But his real star is Wallop. He wasn't sure what to make of it, having never come across a "stingo" strong Yorkshire ale before. The brave soul tried it at the recent York @camraofficial.bsky.social beer festival, and it was his star of the show. Hope you enjoy!
Tonight! (Weds) We're all set up for our Nightjar Brew Co Tap Takeover this evening and it's a great selection. If you'd like to learn about the beers, and the inspiration behind them, Matt and Jake will be here from 19:00. #BeerSky #BskyBeer
It's happening people! 30 Sep for our meet the brewer event with Matt and Jake from Nightjar Brew Co. Plus a delicious Nightjar tap takeover! Bargain. #HebdenBridge

1/3 Andrew's been buying every English hopped beer he can, so he jumped at the chance to do an English hopped bitter with Nightjar Brew Co. #HebdenBridge As a bonus their recipe uses two new hops, Boadicea and Godiva, from the Charles Faram hop development programme... #BeerSky #BskyBeer
So. This happened last night. The first live national telly broadcast from the Fox and Goose. Sterling work from Hannah and Beth repping for the pub, and huge thanks to Jago for agreeing to be Joe Lycett's hostage for the evening. www.channel4.com/programmes/l...
Tonight! We're live on The Lycett Arms, join us in the pub, or on the telly!
Friday night! We're on the telly! Live! 🙃 Twinning with Joe Lycett's studio pub for the evening and spreading the word about community ownership of pubs. The filming takes place live between 10-11pm and there will be a rehearsal between 6-7pm.

Lumbutts and Mankinholes are two of our favourite local place names. Oh, and Slack Bottom, obviously. Ahem.
Engineer William Fairbairn was Commissioned by the Fielden Brothers to design a new mill at Lumbutts. Todmorden. The tower was built between 1828-30 to house first two, and then three overshot water wheels, one above the other. Each wheel was 6 feet wide and 31 feet in diameter.

We’ve had Andrew from @foxandgoose.org here today brewing a new lager called Bramble Nose, named from old #Yorkshire dialect for someone who has a big red nose from drinking too much 😉 hopped with British Bramling Cross and brewed with all British Malts for a very #BritishLager

Given the range of ace cask ales we get through we wish the younger generation every success in this impressive memory feat.
It’s being reported that younger beer drinkers are increasingly ordering the cask ales they remember their parents and grandparents drinking at the pub beertoday.co.uk/2026/09/03/c... #beer #beernews #caskale #realale
"Developers to prove there is no reasonable prospect of keeping a pub as a going concern, including evidence that it was marketed for sale for at least a year. Councils to consider whether losing a pub would deprive a community of somewhere for people to gather." www.theguardian.com/politics/202...
Geology fans, visit Calderdale for an opportunity to be preserved in stone, if you're lucky. Runners up will receive a lovely stroll and pleasing views.
🧵High above Todmorden, the rock formations of Bridestones Moor have inspired stories for generations. One of the most enchanting tells of a wedding party caught in a thick moorland fog. Lost among the hills, the bride, groom and their guests were said to have been turned to stone,
