“It’s okay if the AI replaces you.” Is a fucked up thing to say.

God I hate reading people’s posts saying generative AI for coding is okay. It’s built on just as much theft, uses just as much power, and destroys just as much creativity and has destroyed my life. It’s not okay, it’s really not. All apps are turning to slop and we’re just giving up.

Thinking about it, the garden really just amplified my desire to support others, to help others grow around me even here in this place. It feels less like a prison for that sunny hour or so that I'm outside in the mornings.

What would be cool is if someone donated $300 worth of plant seeds to a local prison horticulture program with a caveat: Write what you learned about the plant, and about yourself through the plant.
