NEW— Kathleen Joyce, who has served as the chair of the #Boston Licensing Board for the last eight years, will step down from the post next month and be replaced at the helm by Mattapan resident Ava Callender Concepcion. www.dotnews.com/2026/10/27/c...

Councilor Flynn, who tried unsuccessfuly to derail the Congress Street Reconstruction Project earlier this year (receipts below), just succeeded in killing another cycle lane. For the record, "cycle lane to nowhere" is MAGA PR. Lives of Southie cyclists? Worthless. bsky.app/profile/fort...

Infuriating. Councilor Flynn is opposing the Congress St Redesign that took stakeholders nearly 20 years to move from conception to funding under the Wu admin. (2007-2025, Crossroads Plan) Flynn barely participated in design meetings, if at all. He engaged upon a fatality in 2024. 😡

“However, there was no transparency and communication with the neighbors and no public safety plan.” Not true, Councilor Flynn. The Southie resident had flyered and publicized the event (receipts available). The public safety plan was sound. Saw the detail with my own eyes.

Great to see a post from Mayor Wu’s Office of Neighborhood Services celebrating today’s Southie block party, a lovely community event. Hat tip to the City of Boston for supporting and providing relatively small grants for community-building events like this.

Unsurprisingly, Sen. Collins joined Clr. Flynn in calling for cancellation of today’s Southie block party, similarly mischaracterizing the host — a Southie resident — as a commercial event promoter.

Photos of the lovely block party that Councilor Flynn tried to cancel, and will very likely blow up in the Herald and Mass Daily News. Flynn has already trashed the host as “an influencer of some sort,” a Southie resident that I understand lives around the corner, on Broadway.

Will a friend or relative of Councilor Flynn identify some petty issue to blow up at today’s Southie block party, so Flynn can trash the Wu admin in the Herald and Mass Daily News tomorrow? I’ll be on O Street taking bets.

The Good Neighbor Cafe’s block party on O Street starts at 10:00 AM today, Saturday 10/24. ☕🥯 Councilor Flynn is trying to put the kabosh on the event, despite the fact that the City of Boston reviewed the application, awarded a small grant, and issued a permit.

As the Boston Globe salivates over a building boom, take a look at the subpar built environment that the Globe was complicit in delivering. And BTW - has a single developer guaranteed a tower groundbreaking if they don’t have to comply with 20% IDP and BERDO? Enough BS to last a lifetime.

The audacity of the master developer of Seaport Square to (re)mount this BS rendering, suggesting a 1.5-acre park is planned. This “park” is already built. It’s a 1/4-acre blob of Astroturf (yes, plastic grass) on a 1-acre hardscaped retail corridor. The Globe carried their water for a decade.

Imagine celebrating a building boom this century in which an entire new neighborhood was built without any attention to impacts of climate change. To civic engagement. To a high-caliber public realm beyond the Harborwalk. To cultural engagement outside of ICA. GMAFB, Boston Globe.

Globe handwringing about "mojo" is rich. Where was the Globe during permitting, when Hines was allowed to treat S. Station as a doormat, failing to return it to its former glory? Where was the Globe at Winthrop Ctr, as Walsh failed to memorialize commitments? apps.bostonglobe.com/2026/10/busi...

Tomorrow (10/24), see you there!

Boston area folks: Join me for a discussion about climate change in Boston on Saturday October 24 at 2 pm at the @bpl.boston.gov in Copley Square! I'll talk about the city's historic development, risks, and opportunities in a changing climate. bpl.bibliocommons.com/events/6a4fa...

I have a deep personal appreciation for municipal employees, and really love the fact that BMRB’s Shattuck Awards honors a few each year. Here’s the 2026 list of awardees. 🙏🏼

More from the guy who, just yesterday, fabricated a story on X about Bromfield Street from whole cloth, smearing Wu and Healey, and who the Boston Globe lends its imprimatur to week after week, featured without full disclosure as to who pays his bills (reportedly GOP sugar daddy Rick Green).

While media darling Paul Craney continues to promulgate falsehoods without accountability, the Globe fails to inform readers that Craney is ED of a 501(c)4 "dark money" nonprofit funded by undisclosed backers. A boiler room operation. The symbiotic relationship is disgusting.

Today, ten (10) Councilors voted to accept a $3+ million grant awarded by MAPC to improve the BlueBikes e-bike program. Councilors Flynn and Murphy opposed acceptance of the grant. South Boston trails in cycle accommodation. Predictably, stats involving cars striking cyclists are alarming.

When early voting at ICA yesterday — even knowing my responses to nine ballot questions (NO on 3-5-8) — it took me over 5 minutes to fill out the three pages, and double-check them. I expect long lines on Election Day and, based on history, predict Councilor Flynn et al. will fuel public outrage.

Attended Mayor Wu’s State of BPS address last night. I appreciated that the Mayor brought data and statistics, not simply rosy claims. I also appreciated that the Mayor mentioned a forthcoming initiative to step up civic engagement. The QR code below was provided as a means to learn more.

Let me repeat: No kid should have to turn to their parents and ask why they can’t afford an event on a public park. Or why celebrities and corporations get special treatment… inequitable. Public parks are built and maintained through a social compact, one eroding incrementally over time. 😡

Cookie potluck and book party for anyone who could afford $45/ticket on Boston Common, the nation’s first public park. Shared sacrifice, shared benefit? Yes, I’m disappointed in the Wu admin for a record of exclusionary events on public parks and City Hall Plaza. Call me an outlier, don’t care.
