Finally dared to go #bouldering again but halfway through the session had to stop 🙄 My chronic vertigo has been acting up the past weeks now thanks to weather & stress, and got triggered by the climbing movements. FFS. But at least I got *some* routes done again.

Just finished The Drifter. What an amazing point & click adventure that was! Graphics, sound, atmosphere, music, UX just clicked & the story got me hooked instantly. If you like the genre, I can really only recommend getting and playing this, it's worth it! store.steampowered.com/app/1170570/...

store.steampowered.comThe Drifter on SteamA Pulp Adventure Thriller - A murdered drifter awakens. Alive again, seconds before his death. Hunted and haunted, help him untangle a mad web of conspiracy in this fast-paced point 'n click thrill-ri...

Also, I played it on the #SteamDeck with the controller input scheme instead of the usual mouse controls and I have to say that was one of the most interesting and well working controller based input schemes I've ever seen in a point-and-click adventure!

It's Friday, which means I went #bouldering again this morning! Some new routes again, and even though I was extremely tired I managed to get a good workout I think 💪

Still in recharging mode (this vacation really was extremely necessary and almost too late it seems) but still went #bouldering this morning! My arms ended up fully pumped way too early for some reason, but still managed to do some that required grip strength 💪

Still recovering from WHY and work, but still went #bouldering this morning. Ooof, what a heat in the hall, even at 7am! 🥵 But I still managed to get some routes done, some old, some new, and it felt good to work out again!

This has definitely been also a highlight of my experience at @why2025.bsky.social , lovely to meet Gina and find out we have so much in common 🫶🏻 already thinking about next camp!

I'm still in full blown recharging mode, but I want to share that one of my (admittedly many) personal highlights of my past few days at #why2025 was meeting @erikaheidi.bsky.social in real life and nerding out about climbing and 3d printing! 😄

My home office just got an upgrade I've been thinking about for more than half a decade 😬 I can now not only stand while working (electric standing desk bought back in 2015), no, I can also now WALK while working thanks to a shiny new walking pad 😊

And another #bouldering session has been done! 💪 As this year so far has been extremely tricky with regards to minor injuries, vertigo and such, I'm proud of every single one I manage to do!

FINALLY back on the wall! Thanks to some injuries and EuroPython it's been three weeks since the last #bouldering session, but today I finally made it back. Very happy with the session too, of 18 routes I topped 16 😊 Probably will fight the Soreness of Doom this time tomorrow though 😅

I just swapped the batteries in my Aranet4 CO2 monitor for the first time, not because they ran out, but because I have a conference coming up and didn't want to risk that happening THEN. I got that device on October 27th 2023. So that means it made it almost two years on one charge. Impressive AF!

Have been spending the week so far working on a plugin for #OctoPrint's new comm layer that will be part of 1.12.0 & as of earlier today I'm able to print on Moonraker enabled Klipper based printers😁

This went faster than expected thanks to all that refactoring that I started shortly before x-mas, and I'm incredibly happy that the architecture approach I had worked so well & actually makes adding support for a different connection type this easy! Plenty of bugs to fix ofc, but it's ALIVE!

Once done and shipped with 1.12.0, this should enable compatibility with plenty of the new printers on the market, and the changes I've made to OctoPrint will also allow the development of additional connector plugins for other printers with so far incompatible protocols already on the market.

Even though today is probably going to be a way to hot day, I went #bouldering this morning as it finally worked out again that I'd have a bouldering buddy. The gym was quite warm already at 7am, but I still managed to top some new routes.

Dear Every Company: STOP CHARGING PEOPLE FOR AI BULLSHIT THEY DIDN’T ASK FOR, DO NOT WANT, AND SOMEHOW CANNOT OPT OUT OF. Your bad choices are not our problem. Just stop it. Backtrack. I promise we won’t make too much fun of you. FFS. Stop it.

✅ #Bouldering session (despite having slept like crap and fighting with my chronic vertigo) Slipped and fell off a route I had already done in the past, just as I was reaching the top. Still annoyed by that 😅 Nothing hurt through.

Today's #bouldering session went better than Wednesday's, somehow I had more energy even though I have a busy week behind me now. I still need to be careful with my finger pulleys, avoiding crimps where I can, and the elbow is still annoying, but things seem to get better.

There was an interesting route around the globe that I went for (and topped), and my buddy Romses decided to climb up on the top of the globe first to greet me with the camera, which is how the second picture happened. It's now the picture of our group chat 😬

I just had to adjust the registration guidelines of OctoPrint's plugin repo to explain that a vibe coded plugin that the "author" doesn't understand themselves can't be maintained by them and thus doesn't belong on the official plugin repo, and I really don't like our reality.

Another #bouldering session down, after yet another forced break. This year is really not the best when it comes to my health in general between chronic & other crap - frustrating AF 😒 But I do my best to make it to the gym whenever my body and head play along and consider every session a win!

Travel donkey Timothy is having a blast at @pyconit.bsky.social and even got granted his own badge! Look how proud he looks! 😊 Huge thanks to the friendly staff at the registration desk who granted this wish, and to all the staff really for all their hard work! 👏💚

Ngl, I'm seriously starting to consider to move my projects off of GitHub, as the constant push towards AI is taking away more and more control for me as a maintainer 😕

In an unexpected turn of events, I've just gotten news from a hubber that GitHub has removed this "Open an issue with Copilot" link they forced into the new issue selector.

This still leaves the opening of using Copilot chat directly to create in all likelihood unusable issues, but hey, at least a move in the right direction. I'll continue asking for project-wide opt-outs though...

I've let a professional shorten my built-in gravity indicator 😂 Exactly two years of growth now since the last cut, it really was about time, it started to annoy me greatly.

On a more positive note, I went #bouldering again this morning. Halfway through the session I fell off a route and hurt my left wrist somewhat, but it's already much better. I was also able to still continue until the end. As my partner would say "Don't break Gina!" 😅

So, worse UX, and worse DX too as the outcome of such a report will not contain the info I need, but a lot of other crap if I'm unlucky. Something like that should at the very least have a bloody opt-out, if an opt-in isn't politically wanted ☹️

The latest change is that issue forms can now be bypassed by a handy link to Copilot in the "new issue" selector thingy that I can't remove. Copilot then ignores the bug template even if you tell it you want to report a bug. Manually selecting the bug template renders it as text w/o explanations.

I got a small taste of the zombie apocalypse today thanks to a partial power outage at the supermarket* 😬 I have to say, taking care of my groceries with a flashlight was actually kind of fun 😄 * Coolers and POS still working, all lights out though

Another #bouldering session today. Thanks to tape and bandage the finger & elbow situation is slowly getting better despite being back on the wall. Still doing my best to avoid crimps though.

All in all I'm happy with the session. There's still a project there that I'd love to finish, but as it is most likely the reason for my current tendon issues I'm currently not touching it.
