I appear to have gained a few hundred followers as a result of being part of an autism starter pack, so maybe now is a good time to do some kind of introduction to my life and work in that realm. Hi! I'm an autistic writer who covers autism, pop culture and the middle of that Venn diagram.

There's a comment on this video that says "Reece feels like a well nurtured neurodivergent child living his dreams!" And I can't deny that that vibe is part of the appeal. (Not armchair diagnosing anyone. Just saying that his whole thing is aspirational for some of us weirdos.)

One of the many, many issues with BradBrad's campaign is that anyone who lives in and actually interacts with the city is fully aware that almost everything he and his supporters said and alleged about Toronto was a bunch of dog whistling bullshit.

Beyond RFK being wrong on everything… it’s striking how his anti-Arab talking points are basically the same as his anti-autistic ones. Not sure what to take away from that, except he must really hate this guy:

The Bulwark@thebulwark.com

RFK: "There's five hundred million Arabs in the world. And yet they don't produce science. They don't win the Nobel Prize. They don't win the Fields Prize. They don't win the Wolf Prize. They don't produce literature."

Today is the 21st anniversary of Daisuke Sasaki’s pro wrestling debut. Earlier today, Tetsuya Endo posted that everyone should eat Dan Dan noodles. (They’re Sasaki’s favourite. He goes on about this dish quite frequently.)

Everyone had diarrhea on the set of The Magnificent Seven.

We all know the "Viggo broke his toe" story but what's another movie fact you're personally compelled to bring up every time without prompting? For me, it's the fact that Robin Tunney is wearing a wig in The Craft because of having just shaved her head to save her job filming Empire Records.

RIP Nona, the nonagenarian who was always scolding us in extensive and expressive Italian and whose soul could only be soothed by singing Happy Birthday.

I know the stereotype is that awful people dump their parents in a home and never visit again, but at least in my experience, it's more like you visit and get to know and develop emotional attachments to a whole ward of people and their families. (And you're often mourning people.)

Went into a pub bathroom tonight. Realized there was very little toilet paper left in any of the stalls and collected what was left. Heard someone else walk in as I was about to settle into a stall. Thought "oh, this is my moment to be a solid girls' girl! Score one for the autistic girl!"

The woman who was working at Mount Pleasant station yesterday afternoon must fucking love her job. It was actually jarring at first, because I'm not used to TTC employees being that nice. But once I got over the initial shock, it was kind of infectious.

I'm hosting an autistic creatives summit in my apartment tonight! (Drinking cider from the one cider place I always pick, listening to the Dave Clark Five record I got at a church rummage sale, not getting invited to the cool kids' summits.)

And now everyone's doing similar looking GRWM videos sponsored by a skincare company.

Has anyone else noticed that the content coming out of Paris Hilton's ADHD creator summit is awfully uniform? Do you think there was a template for what she wanted people to produce, or is this a symptom of ND instagram/tiktok content groupthink?

This. AND FRANKLY. if the PHOTOGRAPHER got compensated for the amount of times their work was fucking stolen for social media clout, the same rules apply.

This post is unavailable.

People who sacrificed some mix of dreams/goals/ideals for well paid corporate work and all of the comforts and societal acceptance that entails keep telling me I'm lucky I'm such a struggling deadbeat because at least I know who I am and I do what I love. Sure. But I also made sacrifices for that!

If you've never tried a log roll as an adult and you're physically capable, I recommend finding some mats or soft ground and giving it a go. A fascinating and humbling experience.

I don't understand how smug people get when they point out that Mizuki gets a boost in the Whirling Candy. Do they not realize how much core strength and control you need to rotate your body that quickly and precisely? No one can help you with that part.

If they're not working under a strange autistic man who just happens to be a ninja in his spare time, I don't want any part of it.

First look at ‘MIAMI VICE '85’, starring Michael B. Jordan and Austin Butler. • Directed by Joseph Kosinski (‘Top Gun: Maverick’) • In theaters on May 19, 2028

I know a lot of ADHD and autistic people really want to believe we're uniquely immune to propaganda and marketing, but I sometimes think we're more at risk, because we did not grow up navigating content that was designed to get us and how our brains work. And we aren't great at spotting what is.

People are always like “Sarah, have you ever tried writing a normal first draft and not killing yourself to make every sentence perfect right away?” But I just edited and rewrote a 90,000 manuscript in a week with no tears, so I think I’ll stick with my brand of bullshit.

Aaron randomly turned on AAA last night and I caught my first Nobu match in ages. It left me wondering if Nobu leaving and chasing different opportunities helped make different trajectories for wrestlers like Ilusion and Sumi possible. Like it was a wakeup call that DDT could go shorter than Sasa.
