Someone smarter and more motivated than me has to estimate how much in-world currency was spent bringing Matt Damon home.

If the plot is “no price is too high to pay to bring Matt Damon home”, I am fully sat for the movie.

How many unceasings of fire does it take to get the news to say the ceasefire is over? It’s always “A volley of missiles and several civilian deaths test the fragile ceasefire”. Mfers, once the firing starts, one would imagine that the fire is no longer ceased.

Call me out of touch, but what the shit is Newsmax 2? There are two of them now? Is my grandma fully doomed now? Just trapped in the Newsmax Prev. Channel Button Vortex forever?

Melania Trump senior adviser Marc Beckman: "What I'm proud to say is this woman is arguably the only one with tangible results as it relates to the Russia-Ukraine peace process."

Obligatory acknowledgement of current world events, BUT what is it with newer sitcoms and the crazy shallow depth-of-field? Scrubs and Shrinking look like they’re acting in the Unreal Engine Volume. My ADHD ass wants to look at wallpaper and extras doing this or that in the BG. #TVsky

HOT FUZZ was released 19 years ago today. The second entry in Edgar Wright’s Cornetto Trilogy and one of the most beloved British comedies this century, the tale of how it was made is like firing two guns whilst jumping through the air… 1/46

I genuinely feel bad for those Turning Point folks who are so ragepilled by right wing grifters that they can’t enjoy one of the best Super Bowl halftime shows I’ve ever seen.

Finally watched A House Of Dynamite. Good movie, but I couldn’t help but imagine what it would look like with our current administration at the helm. Is it too early for a more realistic remake?

Alternatively, you get a very Serious room filled with very Serious Steven Zaillian Types, who are heckled by a Funny Person that will force them to figure out how to implement their increasingly unrealistic (and therefore more realistic) ideas into their Serious film.

Is #filmsky aware of any Reverse-Emperor’s-New-Groove-Or-Pretty-Woman situations? I feel like there have been countless Traditional-Emperor’s-New-Groove-And-Pretty-Woman situations.

A skilled comedy writer or two would need to be in the mix, though. Maybe it’s written first as a really good comedy, then handed to a different writers room where all the comedic intent and jokes are siphoned out. An anti-punch-up. A Reverse-The-Production-Of-The-Emperor’s-New-Groove, if you will

“Don’t Look Up”, which I haven’t seen but have absorbed through internet osmosis, will probably be the first flick on people’s minds as a comparison, as would Idiocracy, for those who went to The Let’s Go Brandon School of Humor. No. This remake would need to be earnest and similar in scope.

You are up to date.
