Also: it’s meant to be a lottery for people who live in LA. There should be an option to prove this, eg with state ID. The software and infrastructure for this exists! Instead, there’s just a threat that if you put in a fraudulent zip code you might lose your tickets 🤷🏻‍♀️

Metaphors are useful! I’ve used loads of cliche ones, and do all the times. Familiarity is helpful, especially for audiences who haven’t thought about the new ideas or technologies you’re trying to explain. But also: I’m really bored of the gardening one

Though gardening metaphors for tech in the 2020s are as much of a cliché now as military and space travel ones were in the 2010s
