The modern state of programming languages depresses me. Every new language is always just slop and is always targeted at how it can make your agent more efficient, they get hyped on youtube for 2 weeks, then disappear

Java was actually invented in 1867 by Moon Macrosystems under the name "Tea" but it never caught on due to various reasons. Sun then rebranded and subsequently re-released it in 1996 as the Java we all know and love.

In my #java decompiler opening a jar inside of a jar will extract it and open it in a new tab lol

Turns out I've had a Windows docker container running this entire time and the only reason I found out is because I randomly saw this in CLion while doing something else 💀

Built-in godot-cpp templates for godl, my #godot version manager. Create a new GDExtension-based project without any extra manual setup!

Timestamp labels just got a (minor) upgrade #godl, my Godot version manager! They now show a more precise time, up to two parts, if the inaccuracy after showing one is over a day.

godl's Qt Widgets rewrite is progressing well. Honestly, I think the new UI looks even better with denser, more consistent spacing, real modal dialogs, and consistent widget use.

New frontiers in programming language implementation: a type constraint solver powered by a genetic algorithm seeded by the file's hash. Types not solving? Just add a comment with some random content and re-compile!

React in #godot now has object ID-based movement! Previously, it would diff the virtual trees on attributes alone. The colored squares get a random color each time they are instantiated, so the color "stay behind" despite the cells appearing to move.

Each list item is its own HBoxContainer, all stacked in a VBoxContainer. Were you to write this manually without a stateful aid like this, you would use Node.move_child to move each element up and down. Now, the runtime is smart enough to do it itself (provided can you provide a unique ID)

Weird how the C++ committee chose ^^ as the reflection operator over the much more obvious super address taker &&&

the CPU when I, a lowly core, am trying to take a 2 nanosecond break: get back to work these threads ain't gonna hyper themselves

Anders Hejlsberg made one great language and decided that he needed to balance it out somehow
