Though the NE Revolution should be a natural contender for our Boston-area family, they are run just as badly. Say not to Kraft. Friends don’t let friends root for the Revs.

Boston Legacy FC will most definitely be part of the family support equation, though. I hate that they will play at Gillette to start, but maybe they can help us love watching a team again.

Related, after supporting DC United since first moving to DC in ‘97, my family and I considered an off-season trade. Just about all of the Eastern teams have marks against them, with the Union coming out as the top contender. We expect to be free agents after the 2026 season if things don’t around.

President Trump, who has resisted backing such a measure, said he believes Republican lawmakers “should vote to release the Epstein files, because we have nothing to hide.”

Is it too cynical to think that the federal government has accepted enhanced national security risk to flood the white collar talent market to manipulate supply-and-demand, force longer unpaid hours, reduce compensation baselines, and rehire at reduced expense? www.washingtonpost.com/politics/202...

Another lost season for DCU. What a waste. #SelltheTeam

The four-week MLS transfer/trade window closes today. Barring last-minute deal(s), DCU will finish with three moves yielding one young player, $125,000 GAM and a third-round draft pick — no intl signings, DP additions or major trades. Another winter rebuild under another new coach awaits.

Disheartening to see people vilifying warfighters for following lawful orders of their Commander-in-Chief in DC. It is wholly inappropriate, and exceedingly dangerous, to ask them to interpret the law themselves before the judiciary acts. Focus angst on politicians and empathize with the soldiers.

Reinforcing exclusionary narratives, @washingtonpost.com continues to be way too casual about statements like “make its closest approach to the United States” when referring to the mainland while PR and USVI were closer and are certainly part of the USA. www.washingtonpost.com/weather/2025...

washingtonpost.comWhere dangerous Category 3 Hurricane Erin is headed nextErin became one of the earliest Category 5 hurricanes on record on Saturday. The storm will lash parts of the northern Caribbean on Sunday and Monday.

I’ve complained about this in past years and while the journalists usually respond positively and correct their pieces, the behavior persists and demonstrates a systemic disregard for how the narrative further marginalizes our Caribbean citizens. Editors need to do better.

Folks across the US unhappy about the Federal intervention in DC can help by pushing for statehood. The vulnerability that is being exploited is the lack of representative control. The mitigation is handing the power to the citizens and their elected officials as the proper check on Federal action.

I have infinite respect for all of those who have served our nation. Tubman is one of those exceptional warriors who serves as an example of what it means to serve with the courage, intelligence, and sacrifice to defend the values that our nation. www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/202...

We all likely agree that using official government communications to spread rhetoric spam is a violation of trust in mission over politics. As one of your constituents, I ask, what are you going to do about it? @repauchincloss.bsky.social @warren.senate.gov @markey.senate.gov

repauchincloss.bsky.socialRep. Jake Auchincloss (@repauchincloss.bsky.social)Dad. Marine. Massachusetts Congressman. Build an economy that works like Legos, not Monopoly. My only Bluesky account.

Congress seems poised to run a basic misdirection/extortion scam. House and Senate Republicans are going to bitch about how bad each other’s bill is to increase the public appetite baseline, then approve something more publicly appealing that is still the worst outcome constituents could imagine.

My executive spouse produced a complex machine learning script to perform a cluster analysis of a bunch of unstructured data, complete with a ranked list of differentiating features and visualizations, including a word cloud of distinct categories. In 20 minutes. Never looking at code. Amazing.

I'm curious how many GOP leaders will encourage their kids (or grandkids, as is more likely the case) to trade schools over Ivy Leagues. I'll wait with bated breath.

Breaking News: President Trump plans to accept a luxury Boeing 747 from Qatar that he will use as Air Force One and will keep using after he leaves office. The plan — involving possibly the biggest foreign gift ever received by the U.S. government — raises substantial ethical issues.

Loved the Thunderbolts*, but I couldn’t help but see Bob/Sentry as simply a recast Hulk to pair with the recast Black Widow. In the post-credits scene, it even sounded like Bob was worried about releasing “the other guy.” I look forward to the “sun getting real low” in Doomsday.

“I have brilliant lawyers that work for me…” Not the USA, “me.” Combine that with not knowing whether he has to maintain his oath of office to follow the Constitution, and you get a clear indication that the only law he believes he needs to follow is his own. Very Presidential.

washingtonpost.comTrump says, ‘I don’t know,’ when asked if he’s required to uphold ConstitutionThe president also downplayed fears of a recession and spoke of potential successors when his four-year term ends in an NBC interview.

The entire executive branch is simply a tool to execute his desires, not serve the people of the United States. How is it that Congress continues to allow his actions to reflect the obvious active subversion of democratic rule? Does the GOP actually agree or just assumes it can hold the line?

National security run by halo effect. What could go wrong?

Yep. Core to this administration is the belief by nearly all the people currently running the throne that expertise is inherently suspicious and that they can simply run things better themselves if they don't have any pesky nerds around to question them and push back on their first instincts.

One of my Google Domains, now Squarespace, domains is expiring. I decided it's time to transfer them all. That's the kind of shitty decision that tech people make impulsively with a shrug inner voice statement that "it won't take that long" only to get buried in "I should've seen it coming" issues.

I found some DNS issues that the Google Domains transfer to Squarespace may have/may not have caused, and I'm trying to work it all out. Just another reminder of the golden IT rule that it's almost always better to start from scratch than transfer settings.

"Do your own research" has become the go-to conservative directive for ignoring science and seeking out misinformation that best aligns with individual beliefs. Usually, when someone says they "did their research," it means they found evidence online supporting their preconceived arguments.

Seeing all the posts from security pros “heading to RSA,” I’m struck by how much I do not miss the rat race and witnessing the inevitable bad behavior. It’s been 15 years since my last trip and I have felt relief every year since.

Based on the emails I’m receiving about RSA from vendors, I think that I have an interesting business venture forming. Create a company and make my title “CISO.” Announce that I’m going to RSA and opening my calendar for vendor pitches. Charge some amount for 1 hour slots. I bet I’d make a killing.
