This, from the hugely experienced Irish courts reporter, Isabel Hayes, on the Minister for Justice’s performative outrage over an ad about children and consent, is worth reading.

The government reaction to the new DRCC ads annoyed the fuck out of me. They threw the DRCC under the bus in an attempt to appease the last remaining demographic of old folk who’ll still vote for them rather than attempt to have any sort of discussion on what the ad was trying to get across.

Is Mr Loverman the name of the book or the author? Because I really like the idea of someone calling themselves Mr Loverman negotiating a publishing deal.

Had to sign a note in my son’s homework journal last night. He showed it to his teacher today. And when he saw it his teacher said “Do you really expect me to believe that’s an adult’s handwriting?!” I’m 45 years old.

I’m currently reading ‘Right Ho, Jeeves’ by P.G. Wodehouse and I think it has my favourite sentence ever: “She unshipped a sigh that sounded like the wind going out of a rubber duck.”

I just signed the petition to #stopthegame - will you add your name too? No to a change of venue. No to forcing players to play a game they don't want to play. No to sportswashing. No to bending for genocidal murderers. my.uplift.ie/petitions/pe... @uplift.ie

Take a trip round the world in the basement of The Thomas House this Saturday the 23rd. With vintage psychedelic vinyl from Bolivia to Iran, Turkey to Nigeria, Czechslovakia, Spain, France, India, Poland, Sweden, England, America and even wee Northern Ireland. United in music.

The Slow Death from Minneapolis had a gig fall through on them for the 7th June, so ourselves and Niall McGuirk have organised another gig for them in John Lee’s in Tullamore. Joining them on the night will be Carpark Sci-fi and Answerer. #musicsky

Here’s us playing Oligs in McDowells (RIP) a few months back. Oligs is the opening tune on Sons of Dis, which is on Bandcamp and a bunch of other places (Links in bio). Thanks to Katie Holmes for the video. #musicsky

Huge thanks to everyone who came out to John Lee’s. Thanks a million to Gav Cowley for organising the whole thing. Big Tears were excellent and Carpark Sci-fi also played probably the best set we’ve seen him do. And we got good weather too! Photos by Paul Moore

We were playing down in Ballina the other night. One of the gig organisers works with Music Generation down in Mayo. He said that Oasis donated money to them last summer because their mam is from Mayo and it’s really helped musicians there get sorted with equipment and the like. Was nice to hear.

Huge thanks to Conor and Sid from Yop for organising the gig in The NCF in Ballina on Friday night. We had a deadly time. They’re a really sound bunch there and we’re really glad we got the chance to play there. Yop were deadly and Sean Gorman was class. #musicsky #ballina #ireland

Our next gig is this Friday in the NCF, Ballina, Co. Mayo, with the excellent Yop and Sean Gorman. €10 BYOB. No glass. We don’t want you hurting yourselves. Or us. #musicsky #ireland #mayo #ballina #punk #irishmusic #irishpunk

Our next gig is in the NCF in Ballina on 3rd April with Yop and Sean Gorman. Yop have have released 2 fantastic EPS over the last few years and we’re really looking forward to seeing them live. 3rd April, NCF, Ballina, BYOB #musicsky #punk #ireland
