Aaron Briggs, Arne Slot, Mo Salah, Richard Hughes, Mike Edwards all convenient fall guys while FSG shifted their attention to selling the #LFC to genocide supporting tech bros who will rip the remaining soul out of the club as they move closer towards consumer subscription model.

Ballon D’Or is the greatest marketing gimmick in the world. A French football magazine in the 50’s did a makey up poll and now it’s been marketed into becoming a thing. Americans bought it hook line and sinker as usual.Equivalent of Nuts or Zoo magazine deciding who’s the next prime minister.

Isak now ahead of Sinama Pongolle, level with Benteke and one behind Andy Carroll. What a Liverpool career this is turning out to be.

Fig O’F@fergusof.bsky.social

He’s pulled level with Florent Sinama Pongolle, Nigel Clough and Gary Mac. Tit Camara, Naby and Andy Carroll still ahead of him.

Liverpool should not be a finishing school. Hiring a manager with no experience of playing two games a week was a really questionable decision. Made hard work of a handy game due to circumstances today. Cracks papered over but #WTRWWAW #LFC

I’ve just a pretty big Liverpool account talking about the 2-0 win at Brentford in January 2025 and mention how Iraola is bringing back Klopps fight to the team. 🤦 Arne Slot was Liverpool manager for that game. We really are living in a society where people can select their own truth.

Who knew spending £100m on someone with the same squad status as Lucas Moura was lazy scouting?

Anfield Index@anfieldindex.com

🚨@_pauljoyce: Whether it’s Wirtz’s toils or not, Barcola’s early performances are already being dissected in a manner which leaves the club’s latest expensive recruit in the crosshairs. #LFC fans will struggle to put up with another talent who cost £100m+ taking an interminable period to settle in.

Newcastle, Fulham and Nottingham Forest easily dispatched this game week. All three took points from Liverpool already. A dismal start whatever way it’s spun.

Focus will be on City and their cheating but Liverpool have same points and worse goal difference from the corresponding fixtures last season. This weekends games have shown beating Forest and Fulham at home should not be difficult. Poor start whatever way you spin it.

As disappointed as I am, this is probably the perfect result to sum up the sorry state of the Premier League as it stands. We’re watching a sham. The cheats still prosper.

Would make me despise modern football even more if breach of financial rules brought about a boycott before an actual ongoing genocide did.

I completely agree with the City fans here. They watched their team win those trophies. The same way I watched Mo Salah put Dan James on his back and win Liverpool the league at Anfield in 2020. You can’t take it away. Which is why any punishment should be forward facing. Stripping of honours 😴

‘Those memories are ours and no verdict changes that’: Manchester City fans’ views

dlvr.it‘Those memories are ours and no verdict changes that’: Manchester City fans’ viewsWhile most supporters seem to want to get behind the club, some fear actions of the owners will divide fanbase Nicola Schofield, City fan for more than 40 years: One of my (million) concerns, as someone who feels angry with the owners, is if the owners’ strategy causes a split in the fanbase. I think everyone wants to get behind the club and team, but this is different to the experience of a relegation of the type I experienced in the 90s. We all shared that, and we stood by the club down to League One and as we came back up. This threatens to be messier, with those who may want the owners out (which is its own minefield) to those who will back them all the way. I think ultimately all fans want to ensure our club still exists, but I do worry at divisions this could cause and that might be hard to heal. Ben, season-ticket holder: I don’t think I have fully processed the news yet. I trusted the club completely and believed every word they said in response to the charges, so this has hit hard. I still think the FFP [financial fair play] rules aren’t fair and never have been. I know that won’t get much sympathy from other fans, and I understand why. Most of them have been waiting for this day for years. Whatever happens, nobody can take the last 15 years away from us. We lived every moment: Agüero in 2012, the centurions, the treble, Istanbul. Those memories are ours and no verdict changes that. Right now I just feel confused. One thing won’t change, though: whatever happens, I’ll still support the team. This is character-building, as my parents used to say to me. Continue reading...

Means little to fans of the victor or the injured party. The moment has been. Anyone going to go to town on a bender on the back of Liverpool getting 3 more leagues? Punishment should prevent the reoccurrence of those moments. 3 year ban from the division etc.

If you ask the top brass at Liverpool, Manchester United and Arsenal off the record what punishment they would want for Manchester City it wouldn’t go beyond a 20 points deduction and maybe transfer ban. Damage to City damages the premier league brand. Protect the brand at all cost.

Lose City out of the league and you’ve lost 2 massive fixtures for broadcast and matchday revenue. Haaland rocks up at the Bernebeau next season. More eyes outside the Premeir League. More brand damage. They’ll want the repercussions to be light touch.

Context to Gavin Bazunu’s position: a matchday squad of 23 must be submitted to UEFA before midnight tonight, and *must* include three goalkeepers. Were he to simply refuse to play, the FAI would only be able to submit a squad if they (farcically) redesignated an outfielder as a goalkeeper.
