Been studying Bach's concertos for 2 violins (BVW1042, 1043) and Hillary Hahn is my new favorite Baroque Rock Star. Very talented, but just a bit sloppy.

Baby snakes, do-do, do-do-do do-do... Went out to clean up my weeding massacre from Tuesday, saw (and stopped for) no less than three juvenile garter snakes. (full disclosure - there might've been a fourth that I didn't see in time)

Alright, it's 'Music in the Park' night, with "Shoot to Thrill", AC/DC cover band. Should be interesting as these events tend to be... mediocre. I can usually play the songs better than the cover band.

I get you are 100% committed to an Angus emulation, but my dude you look to be around 6'2" and 210 easy. The school uniform isn't working. Even the SG looks like a short-scale in yer hands.

Well, this handsome feller is now a member of the household. 'Picture Perfect' (as known as at the shelter) will henceforth be known as "Petey". So let it be written, so let it be done. (3 months old, surrender with 3 brothers.) 5 hours home and already stretched out on the bed.

Here's a 📸 of the new growth on my 🌵. I accidentally watered it. I've had this for about 10 years or so, and had not seen this much growth at once. Maybe it'll flower?

Fer chrissake. The downside of swing shift (apparently) is work gets done on the data lines, I'm reduced to my mobile connection, and customers don't need to be notified because...? Shift discrimination. This is cutting into my gaming time. Maybe I should go out and heckle the workers.

Bad news: came home to dead shrew Good news: it wasn't half-a-shrew (Kitty was inordinately proud, her first kill at only 12 years old... couldn't wait to show it off.)

OK, on further reflection I don't actually *know* this is her kill. It is, however, her second opportunity. First one was about 6 years ago when she - and the other two cats - stood around staring at a shrew until I worried it was gonna die of fear. Caught and released outside with an apology.

Well, Sammi left us about ten minutes ago. She had a great ten years of life with us after adoption; never asked anything of her and we just let her dictate her life. Gonna miss you.

Had to finish up my Peavey 1516 cab re-jack as I don't want 2 projects concurrent. Meet my new project. Was wondering why the tuner/tempo managed to show both at once...

And blow off the encoder strips. Do not wipe them! I might just replace all of the switches and then use some thread gunk to keep the screws tight. Obviously the lock washers already installed aren't up to snuff.

And for other FBV longboard users out there (who aren't already doing this) pop the hatch and tighten all the screws holding the PCBs to the switch actuators. They were all loose on this one so the switches should work better.

I just finished watching "The Ambassador's Daughter" with Myrna Loy. I've always thought she was stunning (I love the "Thin Man" movies) but in color she is just drop-dead gorgeous.

New complete hot water dispenser installed and I'm beat. We've gone thru 2 Insinkerator instant hot dispensers in 10 years as there's a known design flaw and they won't address. New brand is Joneca, design does NOT have a comparable defective part and half the price.

Dear game app developers: Understand that if I download your game it's because I want to escape for a while. If your app model is 20 seconds of game for every 30 seconds of ads, it's not a game or escape. It's a revenue generator. This year I will be noting which devs do this and sanction them.

Been a long time. Bought on a whim, this ruby is quite nice. Good decision. Nice story regarding myself and Port if anyone is interested. (Yes that's one of my Glenmorangie snifters - didn't want to dig for a better glass)

Removed the first full-range 1/4" jack from the Peavey cabinet, and it is NOT a straightforward mono or stereo jack like I was expecting. No, it is pretty much exclusive to Peavey, with a NC *and* NO circuits inside (3 conductor + ground). Audio Labs in GA - yes I bought out ALL of your stock.

As there's a ... few... more users now than when I first posted this, I want to re-up and maybe get more traction this time. I'd love to get this back to a rightful owner!

OK Sky People I need some crowd help. My late Father was a blade collector for most of his life, and I inherited many interesting pieces. One is a ceremonial sword with a man's name etched in the blade. I would like to return it to the family of the owner. I have tried my best to find...

Alright... the time has come to evaluate and restore my Peavey 1516 full/bi-amp cab. I already have some leads (heh) on chronic trouble spots, and as the original 8"s are gone I'm thinking of a matched pair to replace.

Oddly, I opted to 'dive deeper with AI' and what came up immediately ID'd the jacks, and with a little more detail provided identified the exact model and provided links to purchase. Weird.

Once I verified those were the correct replacements, I offered up what particular speaker cabinet they were for, what repair I was doing, why they usually need replacement, and any other info I could think of in case anyone else looks for these or does this repair.

Got in my first - and I sincerely doubt only - argument with Gemini as I had it try and ID then find the jacks (they're weird end-soldered vertical mount, enclosed) from a photo I took of the jacks. It kept insisting I was wrong, that they weren't input jacks but were AKSHULLY Mercedes igniters...

I then said they were Switchcraft brand - says on the back and visible in the photo - to which it doubled down that I was wrong and they were Mercedes igniters. I guess for a diesel?

I need to understand the math because there's some inevitable tweaks that I need to verify. The cab is 200w program original, but I'm going to be popping in some new 8" rated at 250w ea and that might change the dynamics and force beefier caps.

Got some formulas from my EE at work to calculate the filters as I want to verify they aren't degrading. Not worried about the inductors as they look fine but the caps are ~ 40 y/o. I don't want to replace the caps unless I have to, but I will be ordering spares for them as well.

Yay! Found and ordered the input jacks; two are mono 1/4" and the bi-amp side is two stereo jacks with double-NC connections which how it separates to filter. Interesting, and a little hard to find. Ended up ordering four of each so I will still have a full replacement set when done.

Apparently the input jacks become problematic so that's the first thing to look at. Clean if an option, replace if needed. I'll talk to one of my engineers at work about how to evaluate the inductors. Those might be harder to replace.

This cabinet is a freakin' monster. I run a Carvin R1000 head thru it and have the option of full-range or use the bi-amp on the head and take advantage of the automatic double path. We'll worth putting some TLC into.

Now when she walks by I sing 'Spider killer, Qu'est-ce que c'est, fa fa fa fa, fa fa fa fa fa ...' [It should've run, run, run, run, run, run, run (run - 8 legs) away and lived.]

OK, so I went on a bender and created a 'greenhouse' level on my capital ship in No Man's Sky, maxed out the number of rooms I could build, and planted AT LEAST two complete rows of each plant type. Harvested today. One harvest will net me 42,691,449 units. [of course most of it is nipnip...]
