Sample Vault v1.4.0 is out. Three new features: Recall, Similar Samples refinement, and a Waveform Visualizer. Processing is ~5x faster. Tempo detection got a full rewrite. Here's what changed ๐Ÿงต

Coming this week to Sample Vault: Quick Actions! I don't think searching can get any faster than this. (demo has 40k samples loaded) Wanted to build this for so long and I've still got so many ideas on how to improve it. #musicproduction #samplevault #beatmakers #daw #ableton #flstudio

Getting closer to feature parity with other sample browsers! Except this one's free to use! #musicproduction #samplevault #beatmakers #daw #ableton #flstudio #audioproduction

v1.1.0 is live! โ€ข Ableton Link support โ€” sync sample playback with your DAW โ€ข Tempo lock โ€” time-stretch any sample to match your project โ€ข Key lock โ€” transpose samples automatically

Soo now with the holidays break over, how do you do that working the job thing again? IIRC it was like keep browsing social media and keep convincing yourself you're being productive?

I still have this dream of having an AI music production assistant so I decided to experiment today. Generating structured data can do wonders. #buildinpublic

Ship fast but don't skip important steps. #buildinpublic Yesterday I posted on reddit a demo of my app. It did decently well, people were interested. But I didn't realize the download link was broken. Not a single problem until now. Shouldn't have let my guard down. Rookie mistake, oops๐Ÿ˜…

Another VS Code Tip ๐Ÿ’โ€โ™‚๏ธ Working in Next.js or other file-based routing frameworks? Use workbench.editor.customLabels.patterns setting to add custom labels to the tabs to distinguish them easily. #webdev #vscode

Have you ever had a situation where you had a great idea but had no clue how to implement it? Or felt like you wasted too much time implementing something? Or have ever hit a technical wall trying to scale your product? #buildinpublic

VS Code tip๐Ÿ’โ€โ™‚๏ธ Enable editor.linkedEditing to change both surrounding tags at once when editing one of them. Not sure why it's not enabled by default๐Ÿคท #webdev #vscode

If one AI doesn't cut it, use multiple! Gen AI performs better when given one specific task. Pipe the output of one AI onto another and give it the next task. This is why multi-agent features like cascade in Windsurf are so powerful. #buildinpublic Example below ๐Ÿงต ๐Ÿ‘‡

Looking for qualified leads? sky-scout.app is temporarily free to use. I'm running a pilot of the main premium feature of the app to gauge the usefulness of the product. You can sign up and use it for free for the next couple of days๐Ÿ˜Š #buildinpublic

You will still be able to access and view the results after I disable them, but no new posts will be processed. Let me know if there are any problems or questions! And any feedback is highly appreciated.

4-2/ If you're using an abstraction layer like Vercel's AI SDK, the model and API you use becomes an implementation detail and can be changed very easily. Just make sure the model can run tools you need, like JSON generation.

3/ Prompt optimization Reduce the amount of tokens by making your prompt shorter and more concise. You can even ask an LLM to do that for you. To verify, you can set up a simple prompt versioning system and run A/B tests to see if the results are still satisfactory.

4/ Openrouter It has a lot of models you can try out with a single account and payment. Some of the cheapest ones are: OpenAI o1-mini, Gemini Flash, Llama 3.2 Instruct Experiment and find which model suits your needs best.

Make sure your landing pages clearly describe what problems your product solves and who the target audience is! Not only is this vital information for potential customers, but also makes the information easily digestible by AI. #buildinpublic An anecdote below ๐Ÿ‘‡

This made the AI really confused when analyzing the projects and it could not understand exactly who is the product useful to. Disclaimer: This is, of course, just my observation and not a hard truth. Definitely a part of it were imperfections in the prompts.

I've been working on improving sky-scout.app/ 's algorithm and the past 2 days it has been running for over 20 projects people have submitted to me from Reddit. The results have been variable, some amazing, some bad. As I was investigating the reason, I noticed a trend.

The landing pages for projects that had bad results, all lacked critical information. They all focused on describing what the project does, but were not listing what problems they solve, who should care about them and why.

Finally have most of the pieces in place so this week I'm focusing on gauging the usefulness of sky-scout.app/waitlist Let me help you and try to find you customers for free! Just link me your product and I'll get back to you in a day or two with results (or lack of ๐Ÿ˜ฌ)! #buildinpublic

Just noticed I didn't have strict mode enabled in TS which let a major bug slip by. It's wild to me it's still not on by default in the newer versions๐Ÿคฏ

Hate working with tables, so I'm so glad this part is over ๐Ÿ˜„ v0 made it so much less painful. I was surprised it can handle data tables so well. #buildinpublic

Had to get this thought out of my system. Parrots are the nature's LLMs. They learn the human language and can mimic it perfectly fine. But they don't understand what they are speaking and most of the time they're stringing together gibberish. Subscribe for more deep insights and parrot facts.

Always the same story for me: 1. Start writing a blog post 2. Cram too many ideas into it 3. Cut away fluff and refine 4. Realize you've cut away too much and the text is now confusing Oh well, I'll post it anyway, done is better than perfect. #buildinpublic

One thing that has seriously helped me improve my graphical skills was learning the Gestalt principles. If you're struggling with UI/graphics, go read up on them! Simple rules go a long way to creating visually pleasing UI/content.
